Hey, glad to see you updated it, once you get this batch of changes finalized don't forget to send it out to us beta-testers!:thumb:

P.S. Thief and Master Thief are already implemented as cards (in the latest SVN version, which I'll provide after I'm done with some of the suggestions)
Great! It would've been a tragedy to have a Thief card game without some thieves!

P.P.S. City Guard: Pikeman is as weak as City Dweller by its nominal P/T (1/1), but it's banding, which makes it a very strong and helpful creature
Good point, I hadn't thought about that.

P.P.P.S. Strange the "quit" button didn't work for you... works fine here on my end. Does it work for at least one of you guys?
It isn't really a problem, I can just close out of the program manually without any difficulty.

fixed the absence of punctuation marks in Wall card descriptions (thanks for noticing that!)
I can't tell you how many times I've made the same mistake:).
Also, if you are looking for some pics for the cards check the media section over at the Circle, there are a ton great images over there, also there are some really cool pieces of "Taffer Art" by the community which I'm sure would readily be donated to such a worthy cause! Keep up the good work:thumb:!

OK, I wanted to consult you about some of the upcoming cards. In addition to implementing some of your ideas, I'll also be adding the following classic Gauntlet cards to the set. Currently they have non-Thiefish names, if you can, please suggest something Thiefish based on what these cards do:
1) Eternal Power - Fast Effect - when played on a creature, it allows that creature to wear an extra effect (also a nifty way to play a regular effect as a fast effect; good for backfire traps etc.).
2) City Guard Post (the most Thiefish name so far) - Permanent (6 HD) - TAP: Target creature (6HD or less) gains +1/+1. If the City Guard Post's controller is damaged during the turn when it's tapped, bury City Guard Post.
3) Protective Gadgetry - Permanent (8 HD) - TAP: Target creature (8HD or less) gains +0/+2. If the Protective Gadgetry's controller is damaged during the turn when it's tapped, bury Protective Gadgetry.
4) Reset - Fast Effect (10 HD) - Play only before declaring a block during your main block phase. Put target creature (in case the total HD of the attacking stack is 10 or less) into your hand, discard all effects and other creatures that were played with it.
What do you think, guys? How do we name these cards to suit the Thief setting best?
By the way, here are the latest changes today:
- added a new AI strategy where the AI will choose to destroy the player's Fort Ironwood if it has two Destroy cards and the only alternative is a weak creature attack.
- improved the AI decision-making when the AI decides between using a low-toughness creature attack vs. a WOC or another alternative last-resort strategy.
- renamed Enfeeblement to Drunken Stupor, per your suggestions (still more renaming to follow).
- fixed a bug that made it possible to declare more than one fast effect on a creature during the player's block phase.

I'd call Eternal Power "Well Equipped," but are you saying that it not only lets them have an extra Effect, but it ALSO lets you play an Effect as a Fast Effect?
I'd leave Protective Gadgetry alone, but I'd rename Reset --> "Hidden in Shadows" (or, alternatively, make that the "Invisibility Potion").
Possible new Forts:
Thieves' Hideout [Ability lets you return creatures to your hand, like Reset, 4 Tap counters]
Angelwatch [Tap to give all your creatures +0/+2, 3 Tap counters]
Necromancer's Tower [Tap to Destroy as per the card, 4 Tap counters]
The Maw (I know you just switched Twilight Lands to this, but I figured it would make a pretty iconic Fort; you could make Twilight Lands 'Trickster's Portal,' or I suggested 'Stolen Goods' because it works like you're trading something on the black market). [Tap to give target creature +d6/-d6, 3 Tap counters]
Blessed be,
~Nathan

Yeah, because Eternal Power is a Fast Effect and basically it allows one effect to come "with it", therefore as a consequence of that you can add an effect to the creature not only as an effect, but also as a fast effect.
The rest are all nice ideas and will be considered, thanks!

I'd be happy to help you spruce up your interface with some design and animation elements. Maybe a transition animation or some animation on particular 'special' cards. I'm an animator who does flash work, and I happen to have been working on some thiefy designs such as moving cogs and gears. If you're interested I could send you some swf file samples by email.

Alright here are my suggestions:
1) Eternal Power- Keeper Training, very useful effect by the way
2) City Guard Post- Good as is
3) Protective Gadgetry- Mechanist Gadgetry
4) Reset- Invisibility Potion
Also, I agree with NathanGPLC, we do need some more forts in the deck. Angelwatch and The Maw (if you renamed the other card) look good but Thieves' Hideout and Necromancer's Tower should require a high roll (e.g. 6+ on a 1d8) to play otherwise they might get a bit devastating, especially Necro's Tower.

That'd be wonderful, thank you very much for your proposal! Please contact me by PM and I'll fill you in with the details and provide you with a beta as well.

Yup, a lot of new forts will follow, and I like your ideas, guys! Also, I was thinking of "The Inverted Manse" (or whatever that Constantine's place was called in the Dark Project where the rooms were upside down, can't remember) as a fort, but I can't think of what it could do...
Nice names there, I'll consider them as well, thanks! Btw, Reset as "Invisibility Potion" doesn't work 100% for one reason: Reset can be used not only on your creatures, but on your opponent's creatures as well, so instead of blocking the attack you can "steal" the creature from the attack stack into your hand... I wonder if we could come up with a good enough name for a card like that. ;)

Just sent you a PM :)

I'd like to report that right now I'm in the process of renaming the final few cards I wanted to rename so far, fixing a few minor issues and adding some Thief fonts to the game. As soon as that's done I'll release a new beta version to the testers (estimated date is tomorrow).

Reports are nice, and it's a nice report!
