Can't wait to see another screenshot.
Here you go, enjoy! :) By the way, there are 10 different backdrops for the game table, all using the Thief: DS concept art. The backdrop changes randomly with every new game.
Latest SVN changes as of May, 9:
- added a new MGSE option for AI forgetfulness (disabled by default), now it's possible to make AI decide not to destroy player's Potions of Healing with the given chance.
- made the AI modify favor for Thief/Master Thief cards to try to block them completely every time (optional, enabled for grandmaster skill level).
- added 10 backdrops to the game table (battlefield), they change at every new game.
- made even more font changes (Thiefication).
- drastically changed the interface as a part of Thiefication project (now it's a lot darker, contains an alternating battlefield backdrop, has prettier buttons, and somewhat prettier life/player name boxes).
- split the Greater Glyph of Warding status line text into two lines to make sure it doesn't go out of bounds of the status line.
- fixed the Glyph of Reversal status message going out of bounds of the status line with the new Thiefied font.
- fixed Master Thief showing up as Thief in the card visualization box.
- fixed font import settings for the game outcome dialog window.
- fixed the AI mulligan window message going out of bounds with the new font.

No, I actually think it'd be great if Master Thief were unblockable with walls - it'd make sense (so that walls couldn't stop the thief, you know) - I'll just put a smaller number of them into the deck in order not to unbalance the game.
As long as you're good with it!:)
Dude, the new interface looks INCREDIBLE!
Very Thiefish, I can't wait to try it out!

That's really awesome, it gives the game a feeling of moving forward!
I give you two thumbs way up for this one! :thumb: :thumb:

Beta 3 sent to the testers, please respond once you get it (PM or e-mail). Upcoming changes:
- New cards (including some of the suggested cards and including new forts).
- AI for the new cards.
Once that's done, I think it'll be able to release the game publicly as v1.0

Version 3=SPECTACULAR
It looks 100% Thiefish, it's professional, high quality, and fun. A+ in my book. There are only 2 things which I want added in, some new AI (I can slaughter the Newbie but the Grandmaster beats the crap out of me 9/10 times) and a multiplayer function! I would love to see someone host it on the web so that us Taffers could play against each other, maybe TTLG would be willing put it up (take the hint?;)).

Do you guys think it would be too much and unnecessary to give the tiles an aged appearance? Even an ivory hue, if not with very light fine lines or cracks?
They remind me of dominoes, and the white is stark, though I do like the clear legibility and the fact that the eye is drawn to them.

jtr7- Not a bad idea, can you post a pic of what you're imagining? Or better yet, if you know of a good "aged font", ship it over to Gadget.

@ Stath MIA: I'm glad you enjoyed v3! Yeah, there will certainly be many more AI profiles in the future, currently it's not the focus of my attention and I'm trying to keep the two "extreme" profiles updated (the extreme level of stupidity vs. the extreme level of smartness) so that more profiles will be easier to make based on them in the future.
@ jtr7: Great idea about the card texture! If you can think up of some more ivory-like texture that I can use, I can try implementing it in the game and see how it works! :)
A little progress update: I implemented Walltop Archer today, complete with full AI support, exactly per your suggestions. Also fixed some stuff here and there and improved AI heuristics. Nothing too major yet, more updates to follow shortly.

What do you have in mind as far as variety and how many?
