Spanky,
Ramirez has the safe key on his person. I'm an avid pickpocket but I missed it too somehow.
Thanks, Old Man. I looked for a key but must have missed it. Now I have the safe open and am off.
Is there any purpose for the "pressure plate" at the bottom of the ladder going down to the sewers from the inn? Just thought I'd ask before venturing out ofthis level.

I suppose Apache may have had a purpose for a pressure plate there at one time during the design phase but there seems none now. At least I can't see any. Actually, I don't think there is a pressure plate there, just a dark spot. I've wondered about that too. Even tried to use the ladder without touching it. Perhaps he'll come along and clear this up for us.

WOW...over 3 years since I released this FM pack..
I don't have Thief DP or Gold installed on my PC anymore, but if memory serves me right. That isn't a pressure plate. It is just the way the texture and light mesh..
I'll have to install Thief back on here and take a peek.
Thanx everyone for still playing my FMs..someday I'll get around to completeing this 3 Pack that has been 2+ yrs in the making and release it.
EDIT-
I opened it up and then I remembered..The airbrush used for the ladder opening is snapped below the sewer ground level. This creates a depressed plate appearence. So you can stop running yourself crazy. Nothing there just poor planning on my part 3 years ago. :erm:

Thanks for that memory, Apache. And nice to hear from you again. It's been awhile. I noted your recent move and trust you and yours are thriving again. Best of luck.

Your 4-pack is almost always listed by someone when favourite missions are named, Apache. I think they'll be played for a long time to come.
Wise words indeed.
I have forgotten how neat and fun (but rough at the same time) this mission pack is! Going through it now looking for loot (making lootlists as I go - only the last mission, The Keep, has a lootlist at the Cheap site).
Every penny secured in the first two now. This old thread helped me with the last loot in Stowaway (and also to figure out how to find the burricks).
Off to hunt for Montrose now.

where can i find the earthtalisman? in the same building as the 3 other talisman?
baeuchlein on 27/12/2019 at 22:49
If you play "Hunt for Montrose", then yes, according to a walkthrough written by fortuni, the Earth talisman is located in the same building. Each level of it contains one talisman. The Earth talisman is hidden in a secret compartment. fortunis walkthru says: "The first floor is the Earth Talisman room where you need to pull the lever on the side of the desk to open a secret compartment by the bed to collect the Earth Talisman"

thx there is a great lever, don't know how i can miss this.
but i have an other problem in the fourth level
i stuck by the following goals . get to the keep ....... where should this be?
and where can i find the scrabed scroll ?

First, one important thing: According to my (very old) notes, once you drop down into the keep, you cannot get back up again. There are only three objectives which can be completed once you are down there. These are the following:
Kill henchmen, Kill what is inside the keep, Return to the Docks. Every other objective should be done before you go down (at least on easiest difficulty level; I did not play it on higher levels).
fortunis walkthrough sounds like I am wrong, and maybe that is the case and one can indeed get out of the keep again, but I never found a way to do this when I played the mission many, many years ago. Saving the game at the appropriate point and not overwriting that save game anymore should give you the opportunity to go down "safely". Better be safe than sorry.
To reach the keep, you have to enter
Ramirez' house. The walkthrough says you can either go there by
climbing over gates at the end of the park or by
going through the sewers. I do not remember anymore which route I took.
Once inside, deal with the opponents there and collect their keys. You should get two of them, and you should also find a door with two locks on the side. Use the keys to get inside. There will be someone inside:
Ramirez. Nice, you have the objective to kill him anyway.Do that, then search the room. You should find an access leading to
the keep behind
a painting. Everything you need to open the access should be in this room.
Save your game before going in there, as I recommended above. Then go down and finish your job (AKA fulfil your remaining objectives).
fortunis walkthroughs are available in (
https://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145680&p=2294894&viewfull=1#post2294894) this thread. The ones from 2000 contain the one for "Keep, The". If you get stuck again, consult that walkthrough, as I have told you almost anything that I wrote down concerning this mission. I doubt that I can be of more help now.
