Fallout 3 winning a prize for best writing at the GDC. Not great really, the best April Fool's have an element of believability to them.

As my standard of poor writing is Dan Brown, Fallout 3 passes muster. I wouldn't give it an award but I think a lot of the hate directed at FO3's writing is a bit hyperbolic.

Some of it is good. Most of it is mediocre. Some of it (including the main quest and especially its denouement) is unmitigated crap.
