yeah well, then i guess it was only dyan and larkspur who knew it was garrett.

No. The Hammers found out pretty quick, too.
Artemus contacted Dyan and Drept (likely to keep the balance between the two factions), and they wrote notes for Garrett about what he could do to make up for it. Artemus would never give his Keeper identity away, and I wonder if the factions thought Garrett stole the artifacts for the the opposing side since Artemus wouldn't say who or what they were for?

One more from me:

All that is metal is not of the Builder alone, as all that is wood is not of the Trickster alone. Wood canst be shaped and carved, so that it serveth as part of a great house for the Master Builder.
Even iron canst serve contrary to its nature, for the glory and service of false gods. If thou doubtest these words, turn thine eye only to the ruin of Soulforge, where the Builder himself smote down the workings of the heretic Karras and his wicked crafts.

There is a Hammerite tenet that goes something like: "Wood can be used to build the Builder's house and steel in a fight against him", which sounds to me like their respect for nature (probably being the Builder's creation anyway) is bigger than that of the Mechanists - which is part of the reason why the Mechanists were so extreme and different.
I had the idea yesterday (in fact this morning short after midnight) that the Hammerites probably adapted their beliefs to the industrial growth of the City, as a sort of moral/ethical support; while the Pagans finally became the reservoir for some of the ousted farmers outside the City walls (like those who were partly disseized in England before the Industrial Revolution). This wouldn't mean only a nature-technology conflict but rather a social one, winners and losers of the industrialisation. Again, even making it more complex doesn't solve the problem, but I still think that both are/should be equal. I'd prefer living in nature and not in a smoky factory district, but also living in a quiet house and not in the rain and mud.
Now that I think about it, I remember in Thief 1 that the Hammer temple had a big garden with trees and grass and nice neat flowerbeds, so the Hammers actually do gardening work, which seems so unlike them. There is a Hammer text in that same temple that states that they use birch branches for flogging their prisoners. Obviously they don't hate EVERYTHING natural, but since they like speaking about "taming wild wood", I suppose they only object to the natural world when it is something that they cannot exercise their control over.
It seems that they have a lot in common with modern humans in that the natural world is mostly seen as a tool to be used for their own interests without regard for the consequences. I still think the Hammers would destroy and pave over the natural world though, not to the same extent as the mechanists would, but instead of throwing everything away or burning it all like the mechanists, they would use the materials for their own benefit. They're still a force of destruction, but in a slightly different way.

They simply like taming nature, bending it to their will, shaping it for their purposes. A lawn is nice, as long as it's not allowed to become taken over by vile weeds.
Plus, the Hammers gotta eat.:p

Even if "all the iron is not Builder's"
I think the pagans shouldn't have nicely detailed metal swords with gravings like the city guards have, but some sort of indian-style decorated spears would be nice. And also no pretty blonde hair, but a messy and dirty hair or dreadlocks with leafy ornaments and woodsie stuff. Also, where were the shamans with cow-skull masks and wolf hide clothes? Those were freaky. ;)
Edit: Why did I post this here? This isn't the T4 forum.
