Also feel obligated to point out something.
If you haven't succeeded in convincing TTLG that I'm a closet member of Westboro by now, why the hell do you think it would work the next dozen times?
Give it up.

Not as good as the last one, try harder.
also if i'm accusing you of being a closet anything, it ain't westboro

So kind of related, I watched several videos of World of Warcraft: Chinese Pandas Beta and all of it, literally ALL OF IT was:
- bring me n of x
- kill n of x
- go there and back again
Non stop.
For about two hours.
What the fuck?
Back in my day if you wanted to level you just packed your ass out of the city and killed shit until you dinged. That was IT. And everyone was happy because that's why they were playing - kill shit, get levels. That's the whole POINT. That's how MMOs work.
Well at least now I know why WoW is so popular. It's an MMO that tricks bloody retards into thinking they're not playing a MMO with quests with the depth of STALKER's randomly generated ones

It's kind of weird to criticise the flaws in wow's questing, then advocate something even more tedious.

That's our Koki!

If combat in your rpg is tedious, you're doing something wrong.

Even if we assume a decent combat system, I don't want to spend 2 hours of my evening doing nothing but run in circles in a field killing stuff. I'd rather a structured system of objectives (even simple ones) and rewards.

I don't like when MMOs pretend they're something else(unless they actually are, like EVE). It offends my intelligence.

I'm actually with Koki on this one. This was the reason why, after a week, I literally stopped playing Torchlight and never looked at it again. The game doesn't even try to hide the fact it's just a grind; the dungeon maps dont even have a story or, crap, a NAME, it's literally "dungeon level 1-10," "dungeon level 10-15" etc. The items are minimized to barely distinguishable icons with a spreadsheet attached to them. And whenever you complete a dungeon or a quest you know what your reward is? A map to... another fucking dungeon.
It's just so blatantly vapid and grind-y. Yes Diablo 1/2 was the same, but at least it had some light story/style/character that gave it a distinct flavor making the experience more unique.
