I'm curious how many people smoke? I do, but am trying to quit!

Attempting to quit is futile. You either do or you don't. Trust me, I know. *sparks one up*

Couldn`t put ^ it^ better.
I can go on for days/weeks without one so I`m probably not that addicted to nicotine. But then something shitty happens, I get annoyed and instead of kicking cats/dogs I smoke (this got to ridiculous stage when I was a courier: used to go out to work happy & strong willed, eventually get pissed off by some jackass ped/motorist/cyclist => go on and buy tobacco. Smoke 1 or two, go home, think "that was stupid, tomorrow will just laugh any aggro off", hide tobacco in desk. Next day: process repeats. Finally ended up with drawer full of Cutters Choice...gave it all to hobos later)

I tried to pick up smoking once and it just didn't stick.
There was just no incentive to keep doing it, try as I did.
If I get that feeling I have to do something, my go to vice is coffee.
Best I can do.

*sparks one up* But I cut down from 20 a day, to 10-12 a day.

I used to. Have not had one for a month or more. Wish me luck. I still get the urge.

I smoked for a while at 18, but didn't keep up with it, since I don't get enough enjoyment out of it. I still smoke a small cigar or something like that, if I feel like it, when I'm partying or at a festival. I smoke green, if I smoke something, because that's something you actually get some enjoyment out of instead of just a habit.

Actually, to a proper smoker, there is a lot of enjoyment to be had from a cigarette. If you add a glass of beer/wine into the mix it's a potent combination.
dema - you say your go-to is coffee. Do you do this even when you want to chill out for a bit? What about late at night?
YcatX - that's good going but don't think for a moment that cutting down is anywhere near as hard as quitting. Of course it depends on how long you've been doing it for and how consistent you are but if you've been 20 a day for a year or more good luck, it's not going to be easy.

Quitting is the easiest thing to do, you can do it a thousand times. Its staying quit is the tricky part. Good luck, never smoked.

Did your aunt visit with the Book of Platitudes again?
