Well, I was absent here for a long time. There are three reasons for this: First, I couldn't install NewDark on my Thief 2, and without NewDark many new missions don't function. Second, I have (hopely temporarily) lost my Thief CDs, so I can only play the missions with DROMED. And third, I didn't have/take much time for Thief as in the last time I had much to do with my rockband and also I have played some other games (Two Worlds, Gothic 2, Skyrim, and some tower-defense-games, and others [try Invadazoid!]). Besides, my father died on 2nd November 2014.
But back to the Thief universe...
The fan mission that I play very often is "Captain of the Guards". I have my own way to play (that's much harder than it could be).
My question:
Are there any missions that are similair or at least nerby "Captain of the Guards"?
NB: In the last time (after an update of Windows 7) it's hard to write a text in English because the automatic always corrects my text to German rules (capitalizing some words like "mission" and so on), and I can't stop this mechanism, so I have to correct many sentences after writing them.

If you mean other tower defense type fms, I don't think so. It was a pretty unique idea at the time, and I don't think anyone has tried it since.

As far as losing your Thief CDs, you can always pick up a version from Steam or gog.com for about 7 bucks and not have to worry about discs ever again.
Oh, and sorry to hear about your dad. I went through that about 3 years ago. Not fun.

Agreed, I lost my dad 4.5 years ago and it wasn't fun. Hope you are able to work through the grief and move on.
As to your question, the only thing I can think of that's really halfway in the same vein as CotG is (
http://thiefmissions.com/m/HammeriteDeathmatch) Hammerite Deathmatch, which is an FPS-style Last Man Standing (mission 1) and Deathmatch (mission 2) game. So not tower defense and certainly not strategic, but a good way to blow off steam.
