As a fan of "Subway to Sally" I was very happy to hear their music in TMA, inside the pub in "Ambush!" and in the credits ("Accingile Vos").
I asked myself if there are other bands in TDP, TMA or even TDS contributing a song for the game which I don't know by now...
Has anyone some information on it?

Maurice Ravel wrote the Widow Moira theme, afaik.
No, sorry, just kidding...

T. M. Blackheart in "Shipping", TMA.
(Oh, that was a cheap one. Shame on me.)
But hey, Eric Brosius is famous to me, at least. (And so I keep telling all my friends whenever we discuss Harmonix and Guitar Hero and Rock Band.) I imagine that with the exception of Accingile Vos, all music for the English-language Thief titles was composed by him.
There is a distinct possibility that the tracks in the German version of TMA differing from the ones in the English version was not done by Eric B. But I don't know by whom, then.
What do you think?

I don't think that they produced new music for each localised version of TMA.
That would be to much effort for nothing...after all, there are rarely vocals and
if there are some, then they are in latin (e.g. Accingile Vos) or in some sort of fantasy keeper language.

I cannot recall any music with lyrics except for the Latin StS choirs and the English ones in the Cradle. That "Keeper fantasy" (?) whisper only appears in the Keeper introduction movie and on the official homepage. The "German" (i.e. replaced) soundfiles in TMA are:
WINGEDM.wav
waxytune.wav
swells1.wav
s0401 - s0407end.wav
Plus, some cutscenes have been edited.
All sounds use themes from Accingite vos, a song that was by the way published with the game even before it appeared on CD, afaik. I have planned to write to the guy who apparently managed the localisations and ask him why our version is so independent.
PS: The guy who wrote the Seaside Mannor themes could also be Claude Debussy. :erg:

This one is easy.
Tribe - Eric and Terri Brosius, Greg LoPiccolo and a few others. (Check your Thief manual credits if you don't recognize those names.) Not really famous, but their work on Thief should be, and their work on Guitar Hero definitely is.
But it's maybe not the answer you were looking for. ;)

You're right about it:
(

This CD was released in april 2001, after TMA.
But why they replaced so much soundfiles is a riddle to me too. I mean, the whole "german" version is in english anyway, apart from the subtitles.

Sorry. But we should try and get in touch with him, for the sake of completism. Going by his location seven years ago, we could try and contact people in the music scene of Coventry, R.I.
Re: Tribe - One of these days, I'm so going to get Joyride (I Saw The Film) played at one of my fave clubs around here. I heard it first courtesy of DN, all those years ago. It has stuck with me since.
Thanks for the youtube link, too.
