I did the same thing with the whistle the first time! I just couldn't resist seeing what sound it made. OOPS! :laff:

I guess this could be discribed earlier, but...
In The Maw, after dealing with 3 spiders in the "inside" the Great Tree I was so adrenalized (being arachnophobic gives you more excitement while playing Thief :wot: ) that I didn't figure I can use "magic shining catwalk".
So I jumped carefully down to the ground and made all my way up using tree branches and rope arrows. THAT was pain.
And yes, after that... MORE SPIDERS! :o

i guess i was a stupid thief too, i only realized that you can kill undead with flashbombs in my second playthrough of RTC through the use of a walkthrough, before i just run around totally panicing because i was hunted by so much zombies and haunts...:tsktsk:
it also took me a while to understand that keeping in shadows makes me less vulnerable, so in the first mission thief 1 i just run around and hit everything with my sword and blackjack, getting so mad because i died all the time
but it was a great feeling when i finally understood everything, turning the game from 'this sucks' to 'wow, just awesome'

I barely listen to the first briefing of this first mission, I begin then, a guy talks to me and walks away.
I search here and there, then I peep someone by a window ... (I hope you already figured out what absurdity I did at this point cos it's so funny)
Hey, boy, gonna taste my blackjack.
I open the door, silently, I approach, carefully, my gem is pitch-black, alright, *knock* the guy falls ... hehe I think, suits you !
And ... *bam* mission failed : I just knocked Basso !!!
I laughed out loud when I realized...

The small worker ones - yes. The big combat types - no. You need one water arrow to stun them, and another to shut them down (while they become motionless for a while).

M06B10:[INDENT]"Friend Coltus,
Recent experiments have confirmed my fears -- mere water can indeed halt the Builder's Children! If a significant amount of moisture pools in the aft boiler, the result is complete paralysis! The weather has been agreeable of late, but if a thunderstorm were to strike....
Coltus, I task you with fixing this problem immediately. Water poured directly into the boiler may shut the Children down, but you must at least be competent enough to protect them from a simple rain shower!

I took me a LONG tome to learn about the bashing wooden doors trick.
Same w/the boilers on the bots.
Another is the way to soundlessly sneak by tapping the walk forward key while crouched instead of holding it.
