Or did anyone just ran like a retard in Eavesdropping to be sure that at midnight you'd be at the door? I always thought that there was a timer! So I killed and butchered everything in my way only to get to the freaking door! Too funny!

Did yall know you can blackjack a guy Head-On, if you run out of a dark spot and swing at him in less than 1.3 seconds? It is required that the guy is unaware of you. He will be caught by complete surprise. However, it is also possible to be sneaking after a guy in complete darkness and try to black-jack him, except that he shrugs it off and goes to fight mode.
A real stupid thing I did was try to kill people by drowning/traps/fire/anything that did not require you slashing them with a sword in Expert difficulty. So I thought it'd be real nice to get rid of the black-jacked evidence by stuffing the unconcious in fireplaces..

So what i am "the stupid" and what ?
I had tried both demos for Thief I, II, gold, silver, platinum... errr (you know them)
and i got my ass spanked so many times that i said to myself, nope this game it's not for me..
I was on a real mess playing SS2, but Thief is for master players not amateur players like me...

Some of the dumber things I've done in Thief:
I didn't know the proper use OR deployment method for flashbombs until WELL after I'd finished BOTH games. Pity.
Thief 1: "Hey, what's that bobbing orange ball of light coming toward me? I wonder if I can pick it up? I'll just walk over to i - OH SWEET MERICFUL CRAP!"
Thief 2: In Life of the Party, walking up to the thief in his hideout, figuring that we'd have a little mead and that some sort of bartering minigame was about to happen. What's dumber is that I then tried it again later that same level on the 2 thieves near the end. Also, in Life of the Party, I assumed that the little Gold Emmanuel Lewis-bot was Karras, and spent, oh, 20 minutes beating the holy hell out of it with everything I had, figuring this was the endgame...

4.87 minutes ago I found out that food in Thief 2 can give you health...I always just assumed they couldn't......AND NO ONE TOLD ME! Why am I always the last one to know these things? (see "Do you eat the food in Thief" post)

Because I was inexperienced this usually resulted in my drowning. But I did get to see the Crayman at the other end, who's crazy dancing was the inspiration for my user name.
Also on that mission, I had not yet learn't back-stabbing, and I found the scary Serpentile Torc manor. Inside there were two haunts. I thought they were just regular humans and therefore tried to blackjack one of them. I will never forget the moment when I saw that skull. Then he chassed me laughing back to the drawbridge.
I stopped playing Thief for a time after that.
These arn't THAT stupid, but still when I discovered how *really* it should be done, I felt pretty darn stupid.
Those Hammer ghost haunt things are the primary reason why THC is one of my favorite levels in Thief. I LOVED the Serpentile Torc manor. It is so damn dark, inside & especially outside. I felt so exposed, vulnerable & alone. The whole time I was exploring the place, I kept feeling like there was an unseen figure behind me, watching me play the game. Nothing like that to test your mettle. I think that added to the "exposed" feeling I got when I was standing on the front porch (I hadn't killed the spooks yet, because I didn't know they could die, so they both were still inside, just wandering). Even thought there were no lights anywhere in or around the house, I was still able to see everything quite well. It's not that way when you visit the watchman's grave. Now that place was very dark, probably one of the darkest places on the level. God, I LOVED that shit!
It wasn't until I read the Walkthrough (here at this web site) that I realized you can get rid of the haunts (& zombies) with a couple of flash bombs. Return to the Cathedral was still difficult because there simply weren't enough flash bombs for me to purchase at the start of the level.
I honestly don't remember my scariest moment. I think the word "startle" would be more fitting, because it still happens to me even though I've played it at least 3 times. I don't use speakers; I use headphones, so the sound is a lot more "in your face" & personal. When something surprises me, it really surprises me, because I am usually able to hear everything that is at least 200' by.
