For Thief1/2 on Vista (or indeed 7), I recommend you use ddfix to prevent silly resolution changes, and no compatability mode is needed, just set to "Run as Administrator" and you'll be fine.
(I also had better luck when I installed it to a directory I had full control over, but that shouldn't make any difference since you are running as Admin anyway...

You definitely need the ddfix, get it.

Some people had to change compatibility mode, as well, but that should only be tried after the more common solutions fail.:erg:

Thank you all, I'll try that.
And now back to our regularly scheduled Thread :)
I'm also hooked on Hidden Object games....oh, did I say that outloud?? :o

Girls, im not seeing enough racing games on your list. You must play racing games! We ALL need to play racing games! Every one on the planet must play racing games! A racing game for every man, woman and child!
That is my dream. Not asking too much right/?
No but seriously, from those lists, females play the same games as males. Why theres fewer of them in general im not sure, probably more interested in other activities.
Well, except for racing games. Why do so few women play racing games? Ladies you need to ..
and Flying games. Why do so few...

lol I don't know about the other women around here. . .but a 'crashing' game would suit me more. I do not 'drive' things well in computer games, boats, cars, trucks. I even tried my dad's trucking game for awhile, but seriously, the ditches were easier to stay in than the roads. (And no, I don't have a problem with actually driving a car. . .but its all so different on the computer!)
I have talked with a few other women gamers and we all agree that that type of thing is next to impossible. So maybe those truly are 'a guy thing'. :)

I haven't played any racing games in a long time, but I used to be absolutely addicted to Top Gear 2 for Super Nintendo back in the day. I also loved MarioKart, but that one probably doesn't count. :-P

With the idiot drivers I see in real life, it makes me want to do a *Grand Theft Auto* on them! I'm not kidding. Sadly, only the game will do. :(

You want Flat Out then :D The main focus of the game is to crash, and it's a lot of fun :) First time I played it, I was rofl'ing so much I cried. Flat Out 2 took some of the ragdoll physics away, and you can't go off track like you can in the first game.
