Arkane... under construction? - by Digital Nightfall

I noticed Arkane has pulled their website down for "construction".

Could a new game announcement be forthcoming? Or is this just a routine update?
Interesting timing...

Could it have anything to do with the upcoming Irrational announcement? If you knew the answer to that would you tell us?

I hope not. I'd really like Arkane to get back to doing their own stuff instead of the for hire polish gigs they've been doing recently. (And I'll be fucking PISSED if they're going to become Irrational/2k Lyon-Austin).

Nope. I know nothing. I just thought it was an interesting coincidence. As far as I know Arkane is still months away (or more) from announcing their current project.

Based on what very little they've told me, they seem quite happy with their new contract. On the other hand, I'd be quite happy to be working with Irrational Games, so it's still anyone's guess. I imagine we'll know one way or another once Irrational's new game is announced on the 12th.

They assisted 2K Marin on BS2, not Irrational.
I'd honestly still like to see The Crossing see the light of day. It looked frigging sweet, like Mirror's Edge with the weaponry from Assassin's Creed. Also the setting and art direction, I loved how modern Paris influenced by the Renaissance looked. I'd leave all the "cross-player" nonsense on the cutting room floor though; it would never work, pub games would be griefer city.

I know. That's what makes this feasible.

Arx 2. They must do it.

this would be a day to remember, indeed.
