Although, if you think about it, the holy roman empire controlled a lot of space as well.
History can be boring in some places, and really cool in others (there was a rumor once that Catherine the Great used to do horses, and Dedalus made a wooden horse for some queen or another so that she could do the same thing).
The best thing though was I read the Daggerfall version of The Real Barenziah, and told a friend about it. We decided to go check the Morrowind version first, and come across the followind line:
(The following has been censored by order of the Tribunal(or some other such authoritative group))
Not to go off topic or anything.......................
Besides, where are those unique pauldrons anyways, or greaves.... All the rest of the stuff is there....
(cough, cough....)

You sir, appear to profess a potentially disturbing opinion of ' really cool historical facts ' . . . :erg:
Oh no, that was off topic ! Well, in an effort not to be so - I LEIK SOWRDS !!11
Yes, that should suffice . . :p

History Lesson - The Holy Roman Empire sucked. (Yes, I'm late with that.) I just realized how short the life-span of the Empire is... About half the time was the Roman Republic (Caesar was the last leader of the Republic, after that was Augustus whats-his-face, first Emperor. Somewhere in like... 127BC, possibly?) Then the Eastern Empire fell around... 500AD. Around. I'm doing this from memory here. I know a lot 'bout the Roman Empire... pretty cool... Once they were attacking this Jewish city and had it undersiege, and the Jews inside new they were going to die. Instead of allowing themselves to be captured, they picked ten people to kill everyone in the town. Then they picked one person of the ten to kill the remaining nine and commit suicide. When the Romans broke through, they found only corpses.
And Catherine the Great did horses? What? ... *snickers*
SORDZ ROKZ BAYBIE!!!11
Edit: Oh, right. Daedalus was made to craft a wooden cow by Pasiphae, the wife of the King Minos. Minos had asked Poseidon for a sign he was of divine heritage or whatnot, and Poseidon had given him a beautiful white bull as proof. When Minos didn't sacrifice it, as promised, Poseidon made Pasiphae fall in love with it. Thus the Minotaur was born. Theseus kicks butt. *goes to hide, having overly proven knowledge in irrelevant things*

Just to let you know, there are no proven facts about Catherine the Great (doing the horses I mean, though she did exist). It is supposed that these were rumors used to attempt to supplant her in politics (or something to that effect)
The truly bewildering part of this post is how we went from armor to whatever we're talking about now....
On a side note, someone should make a mod on that note you find in Tribunal : "For Shara, on my death"...
I like adamantium armor.....
.... The best weapon in the game is, of course, a flock of cliff racers!

I don't want to reply to the crap Egotist said.

Roman Empire started in 30 BC or AD :) I think it was AD.
And what you said about Jews happened in Spain during the 2nd Punic War. (I think the city was called smth like Esculanos). Maybe something similar happened in Jerusalim I don't know. But I'm sure about Spain.
Some say Roman Empire (state) lasted....2000 years. From the foundations of Rome (6BC) to the fall of Constantinople to the turks in 1453.
P.S. Is there a history thread on this forum? :D
RyushiBlade on 3/4/2004 at 22:37
No idea. You sure it was spain? I read about it a couple years ago and I'm too lazy to look it up again. I swear it happened at Jerusalem though. I'm hungry now. Let's go find some food. *goes to the Almalexia thread for his stash of cookies*

Ryushi - I'd hardly consider what is held to be accurate ( dubious as that claim is in conjunction with such lore ) knowledge of mythology to be irrelevant, exactly . . 'Tis a varied and interesting subject in my opinion ( despite fixation upon certain potentially distasteful matters - concisely summarised as ' human nature ', or perhaps because of them . . however I fear that point is irrelevant ) . .
Egoist - not much is belwildering, however many things are completely daft, a prime example of this phenomenon would be flying explosive jugs of marmalade, another prime example would be the devolution of this fine topic . . :p
Ah yes, the on topic aspect . . delightful !
DID EY MENSHUN I LEIK HAMARS UND KLUBBS TU ?!?!1
I think I'll stop that now . .
*mutters about the potential for e-behaviour leaving an unpleasant taste in one's mouth, so to speak*

*looks around quizically, then nods hesitantly* ... Yes.

just to put you all in your places, the english did invent the language but they took it from german and alittle from french and other romance languages, so it's neither the american's nor the british it's the germans who i think came from present day russia (but i could be wrong on that last fact):erg:

It was partially my fault, but can we discuss Morrowind? Or you guys think the game is too old now? Its the impression I get in the forums...
