You...missed...the...cradle...*eye twitch*
The Lair comes after the Cradle, so no, he didn't.
Though it's a damn shame he didn't play all the way through. "Still Life with Blackjack" was a damn fine level.

I'll probably play it again later. I couldn't put up with the low framerates any longer. Even in 800x600, with everything turned down, things turned off in the NVidia control panel, the game ran like crap!
My specs are:
Athlon 64 3000+ 2ghz
Geforce 6200 256mb
512mb memory
The likes of Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Quake 4 run great. Deadly Shadows runs like poo. (Actually, poo runs faster!) I wish LGS was still alive! :( Don't get me wrong, Deadly Shadows is a great game, but it's in a crap engine. Bloody typical ain't it? :eww:
[Ends rant]

How bizzare. My AMD specs and card are lower than that, and it worked fine for me. I seem to recall seeing something somewhere about 64s having some issue like that, something to do with turning off some processor option...
Those are some good screenshots...

Hee hee... at the beginning of Gamall's Lair, when you don't have the Glyph of Unbinding these things scared me!
They still freak me out, actually. I think it's the stomping when they're coming on. Oh, and the Godzilla-sized statue in the Lair. :laff:
Yeah, I loved that the statues forced me to sneak in that level. Before that I had knocked out quite a few guards and killed quite a few monsters but here I had to get by only by sneaking. That was a nice change.... :thumb:

Another scary part of the statues is imagining what their punch would be like. We've all fallen on rocks before, and imagine that with much more force... Broken ribs, broken nose, broken jaw.....

I've started playing this again, all the way back from the beginning. Seems to be running fine now, for some reason. It's either the latest NVidia drivers or the fact that i disabled AVG's resident shield. My guess is it's the latter. Been doing nothing lately other than playing games! Doom 3, PainKiller, Half-Life 2, now Deadly Shadows again! Oh the enjoyment! :D :laff:

Are you sure you disabled "Multi-sampling" and vertical synchronization (I actually don't remember if there was the latter) in the game options and anti-aliasing and v.sync in the video card settings in windows?

Sorry, but those statues don't scare me at all. I collapse laughing when they start talking. They sound SO much like Frank Bruno - I keep expecting them to say:
"Flee and hide and hide and die ... know wot I mean, 'arry"
I blew a few up with mines, but after I got the glyph, I thought they were disappointingly easy enemies. I thought at least you'd have to sneak up on 'em to blackjack 'em, but a full frontal assault does just as well.
Cardel on 16/4/2006 at 19:13
Really? For me if they even pause "Something, nothing, something, nothing!" then it doesnt work. They have to be totally unawares that Im there.
