I am not sure if this has been asked or discussed yet, but I did read around a bit...
Just curious if there is any word on whether the head bobbing can be turned off in Arx Fatalis.
I am quite worried because I really am looking for a game with the Underworld feel, but if Arx still has the ludicrous head bobbing from the original demo then it just isn't going to work.
I can't imagine it is just me...I mean it feels like your guy is drunk and it brings back the days of feeling sick that I haven't had since the early days of 3D gaming.
Here's hoping the publishers have tweaked the game a bit more...perhaps those with the German version can provide me with a little info on this. But, you must compare it to the original US demo.

Have you ever walked?? try walking and then compare with the game head bob
try it!! you know people want they'r game person to be like them
if theres no head bob means the head has no weight
get it
maybe you will
maybe not
Just remember this
ARX RULEZ
Poly want's a cracker! Poly need a cracker!!
GIVE POLY A CRACKER!!!

If there's no head bob it means there's also less chance of player vomiting. And walking is too slow.
Most modern games give the option of having it or not. I see no reason why Arx can't as well.

It worried me, though, that they incorporated the feet...like perhaps it was hard coded...but I can't believe that they would do that. Just like I couldn't believe I was playing a modern RPG that didn't use the mouse...Gothic.
Plus, it doesn't make sense that they have such an over-correct motion scheme...The controls should be tight and make you feel like you have control over your character. I often feel like my character isn't responsive...if that is the price of authenticity, then just give me a game.

Hello,
The head bobbing has been reduced a lot, in general the head movements are very stable compare to the original demo.
And most players animations have been redone so that they are accurate, and don't give that feeling of not being in control of the hero anymore.
If you want to have an idea of the new head bobbing system, you can download the german version of the demo.
We couldn't include the head movements on or off in the options, as unlike usual 1st person games, we actually have a physical body, and all the camera movements are linked to the body animations...

Referring to the first demo: I actually felt that the movements were much improved by increasing the resolution. Lower resolutions, such as 640*480, felt terrible in comparison to higher ones. I found 1024*768 (and higher) to be the best choice, in my opinion.
