Ah, yeah...that does make sense... grrr i don't even know what to use anymore, since 3dfx is gone nVidia is taking over and i've always hated their cards :grr:

I was a huge 3dfx fan, and I love my Geforce 3.

We support voodoo, actually one of our game designers plays the game on a voodoo3. edwardhuggett : 64 Meg on a kyro2 and a 1Ghz athlon should be enough to run 30Fps, but I don't know yet if all glitches will be removed, for some reasons, it seems Kyro cards handle rendering in a funky way sometimes... We'll see...
About PC ZONE: it's more a question of time than anything else in fact, I'd love to have them here in our offices for sure, it's just that we don't have any PR person at Arkane to handle this kind of things and invite everybody. You know, small companies, small budget, short time...
We're doing our best to get this playable demo for you guys as soon as possible, that's our main focus right now !

Well, thats cool!
Once you release the demo will it be a beta? I.e. will you alter the game and improve it according to the feedback you get from the fans? Or will it be more a case of "this is how its going to be" and not vastly different from the final?
Also some questions on game design .....
Have you managed to recreate such a good atmosphere as the underworld games? I always remember certain levels being memorable even now ..... the first level of underworld 1, the ice carverns of underworld 2 (on of my favourites - i liked the music for that level too!).
How long / short are the character conversations? One thing which i rember about the underworld series was that they got the balance just about right when talking to people. However, when i played the Gothic demo, i found they conversations less involving and more long winded.
Also I hope that it follows UW closely - ie there are lots of objects to find in rubble and weeds like battered magical weapons, keys, old armour that you can repair etc. One reason I did not buy Gothic was I felt that it did not have the same quality of game design of the UW series etc. and i didnt like the combat.
If you have used the design principles of UW and improved on them I think you will be fine. UW was great for a number of reasons:
1. Contained dungeon environment - the designers could concentrate on lots of detail rather than many locations.
2. Atmosphere - still one of the most atmospheric games I have played (music, graphics, level design, storyline)
3. Interface and objects - huge number of objects to collect, and you are rewarded well if you explore a lot. Great inverntory sysytem (I thought Gothics was pretty poor) and the now standard method of dressing your character in armour!
4. Trading - i remember trading "worn slingshots" and "worn leather leggings" for gold peices with the goblin tribes. You used to keep all the rusty weapons just so you could trade them for a bit of cash. Also repairing your gear was also a major part of the game!
5. Aggresion levels - in UW there is a part when you are walking along and you see one of those slug creatures. If you look at it it says "a mellow maggot", and wont attack you at all as you are not a threat. Same goes for guards - its so useful to see how they are feeling towards you!.
Anyway i am sure you know all these thing already, just thought i would share my opinions. Looking forward to the demo ......

I have not the slightest bit a disagreement with what Ed said. :)
