I usually try to ghost missions, but I am replaying TG right now, and in Assassins it turns out, according to some TTLG research, if you raise the alarm, you get a second set of new objectives to get safely to your neighborhood. It's interesting, because this allows you to explore the level more, so in a way it's even advisable to raise an alarm. I did this by running on the outside wall and jumping into the moat.
Now here's the fun part. It's been a bitch trying to end the mission. I can reach the shop fairly easily without being spotted, but then I have trouble. Anyone have any tips?

Well, if you've given up trying to ghost it on account of hitting the alarm you could always just do a mad sprint to safety.

Well no, I'm trying to ghost the mission apart from raising that alarm to get the additional objective to get safely home. To prolong the mission, as it were. I was just inquiring if anyone had done this (I'm sure), and asking for tips on how to proceed after returning to the shop. I know you have to make your way to the metal bridge, inside the door and down the stairs, but all the guards are on alert and there's tons of light...

I can not help you with ghosting, but I can tell you that the getting home objective is always there on hard and expert mode. Its not earned by raising an alarm.

I'm not so sure. I think the mission just ends as you leave the mansion (haven't played this level in a long time). Look here: (

Quote:
Q: The alarm is going off. How do I get back home?
A: If playing expert and the alarm is sounded, you'll get a new objective: Get back to your home turf. One way to avoid the guards around the house is to jump into the moat (fig. 12)on the side of the house and ride to the sewers. For more detailed directions home, check out the Assassins walkthrough.
The walkthrough reads:
Quote:
Back downstairs in the library, pick the lock on the double doors, go to the balcony and jump over into the water. If you've sounded the alarm or a body has been found by this time, your objectives will change (this is challenging to try so if you've been very careful and still want the objective change, climb back down to the machine room using the secret passage and set off the alarm on the back wall. Climb back to the library and proceed as follows.)
So it looks like that 2nd New Objectives appears only on Expert and only if you set off the alarm.

I have played on normal and hard modes numerous times. Normal mode always ends as you leave the mansion by land or water, even if an alarm is raised. On hard mode you always have to find your way home, alarm or not. Atleast thats been my experience. I have not played expert, maybe its just that mode that gives you a choice depending on if you set off the alarm. Then again maybe my Thief Gold is messed..lol

Maybe the walkthrough is for tdp only - in thief gold at least, for me on expert, even if you don't set off the alarm or anything (ghosting it) you still have to get back through the town at the end and there are patrols on the streets. At least it was for me...

I've done it on Expert in Thief Gold and the mission ends once I exit the mansion. I was trying for a semi-ghost ( I doused a few torches) no reload, and was able to complete it without being sighted (a few guards did hear me once, I think), or blackjacking anybody. Perhaps thats why I didn't get the new set of objectives.

There are plenty of alarm buttons throughout you can push to raise an alarm.

Once you exit Ramirez's house, go down the street and just after the spot where the water is (the pool you end up in if you exit the house using the moat), there are some steps. At the bottom of these steps, if you look off to your left slightly you will see a door. Inside you will be able to jump back into the canal/sewer and swim most of the way home, avoiding most of the guards.
Note: you don't have to go back to the shop.
