WOW. I waited for the price to come down. Once I saw it for $10 I had to get it. DL'ed it last night, unfortunately I had it by 11:30 so didn't play much.
Got through the tutorial basically.
Not a huge fan of cutscenes, and this game has quite a few. Probably the biggest drawback for me so far, but the story seems good so I'll suffer through it :)
I'm digging it so far though. It's kindof thiefy gameplay. But with Prince of Persian movements and the looks of Oblivion.
I love running across the roof tops climbing walls... right at the end I jumped off a really tall roof and went automatically into a 'leap of faith' about 3 stories down into a pile of hay. Awesome way to end the night, I had no idea it was gonna happen.
I'm gonna dig this game alot I think. Within an hour it has probably made my top 10 list.
I heard the main drawback was that it gets monotonous. (?) But I think all games can.
I was suprised to not find a topic on this one when I searched. Who else has played it?
No spoilers please.

What?? The cutscenes were the bast part of Assassin's Creed! Turning Altair towards or away from the camera dramatically while he was speaking was far more exciting than following a mark so I could pick his pocket for the 300th time.

Ahahaha yeah. I thought the dynamic interaction between characters during the cutscenes was better than the actual gameplay too.

True but this has about 3 types of missions in between the actual story missions that repeat on and on and on. The hay bale thing is cool until you realize it's just another scripted cutscene with no real danger.

it gets monotonous, the cutscenes suck, the swordplay is easy once you get counterattack. But running and jumping all over the cities is lots of fun.

whoops, new post for no reason I guess.
I searched Assassin's Creed. Maybe I miss spelled, but I only got 3 threads about other games (I didn't read through those).
I just like playing more than watching... Not that the cutscenes are horrible, just alot of them in the first part.
I think I'll be fine playing through the whole game. I think it'll be one that I play for an hour or two hear and there over a few months, not all at once.
Bioshock is another I've been waiting for, still $20 at BestBuy. I like to have a hard copy, but when I saw this that cheap on steam I said what the hell.
