I have serious doubts Alan Wake will ever see the light of day.

I really failed to see anything actually good about Assassin's Creed. Shit, predictable story (What, the guy who kills the main character in cold blood, makes complete bullshit arguments after every mission is the bad guy?! Who'da thunk! And don't get me started on the Illuminati contemporary part. :eww:) that consists of repeating the same act, listening to essentially the same heavy handed story exposition every time, multiple times. Plus all the Pokémon Collectathons and required "side missions". It got old real fast.
Gameplay? OKish combat, you could use some different styles, like either go offensive, or just aim for parry+counterattack at least. I can see why someone would find it appealing in a laid back position in front of a widescreen TV, but I played it on PC and quickly found it rather annoying.
A lot of people seemed to enjoy the whole acrobatics/running from guards thing, but that was actually what I was the most disappointed with. There's no player skill, everything just happens automatically! You run around with the forward button and the mouse button pressed down the whole time, and every once in a while you press space (or maybe it was forward+space and mouse click sometimes, don't quite remember). Tada! Looks "cool", but is this really what some people find a fulfilling activity?
Verdict: Form over substance.
I'll need to see some hard evidence before getting excited about a sequel.

Finally some gameplay, I like the new moves and the flying machine thing was amazing.

And finally, they took the critic's advice and shortened the length of the speeches when you make your assassination.

Guys I don't get it. Someone explain to me the need for figurines in special editions? I just wouldn't want one, especially as I've just bought a game that may well be rubbish. Even if it were awesome I just don't want a stupid figurine. Artwork, soundtrack, interviews, making of - all fine. Toys, no.
Oh, and the Special Edition has 3 extra missions. Or to put it another way - they took 3 missions out of the regular edition.

Different strokes for different folks. I don't get why some adults collect and display superhero figurines either - although I have to admit that with some of the nicer looking Nightmare before Christmas figurines I have been very tempted.
The extra missions thing sucks - although I'd be surprised if those extra missions stayed exclusive for all that long, either because of a crack or because a patch unlocks them.

Because people like me are massive merchandise whores who see the expansion of their figure collection as some sort of pathetic validation of their existence.
