..... Eg Splinter Cell: Double Agent.
omg, that was horrible, even worse than conviction where I actually managed to play the coop ONCE with ... almost acceptable conditions - after many retries. double agent just crashes after 30min playing, no matter if single or multiplayer. Anyways, I don't recall them saying that this game focuses on MP instead of SP. They promise a full-length SP campaign of AC2 size. Although I liked AC2 - better than AC1 imo - I won't rush to get this and wait for a price drop. Too many other interesting and timeconsuming games on the horizon.

Completely dismissing a game that you haven't even played is bad enough, but one that's yet to be released? Without even waiting to see the reception amongst critics at the bare minimum? Congratulations on revealing your status as a complete fucking retard.
A: I have played it.
B: The story of Assassin's Creed 2 pretty much ended by saying "Ezio's story ends here". I don't see how they're going to come up with a plot that isn't shoehorned in.
That said, gameplay might be good, and if any of my friends buy it, I will bum the disc off them to try out the multiplayer.
Ps: the sheer hypocrisy of that post was pretty amusing. TTLG as a whole (eva included) very frequently decides that some game "is going to be shit" months before it actually comes out.

You've played Assassins Creed Brotherhood? How did you manage that?

Actually, Assassin's Creed ended with Desmond discovering (via the Hashshashin Altair) the Templar conspiracy and the map showing the locations of the pieces of Eden, while still being held captive by Abstergo. Assassin's Creed 2 ended with Desmond discovering the Truth behind the pieces of Eden, having direct communication with the Ones Who Came Before ("what the fuck?"), and then fighting off the Templar invasion of the secret Hashshashin hideout. Neither game was about the Animus puppets even though you spend the vast majority of the time controlling them/reliving their memories.

Apologies, I thought he was referring to my comment that 2 sucked.
edit: typo in the quoted section fixed, though my reference to Ezio instead of Altair should have made the presence of a typo obvious.

Which is why Any further plot about Ezio is a major break from 1 and 2. Since the second game ended by saying that Ezio's "role has been fulfilled", it means that the plot will most likely be all about the Animus Puppet, having little bearing on the current-day events in the series. I have no doubt they will come up with same way of making it fit, but ultimately it seems likely to be filler simply tacked on the series' plot. Much like the DS and PSP spinoff games.

For me, Assassin's Creed 2 was one of the most surprising hits of the last year or two. I sort of enjoyed the first game in a "This is repetitive, but ooh, pretty!" way, but the second one grabbed me from beginning to end. It made the right changes to the formula and kept me engaged until the end. Obviously the plot was preposterous, but it was delivered with panache.
I'm definitely looking forward to Brotherhood, although I'll first want to know what people say about the single player game before I buy it. MP sounds fun, but I'm not a big MP player.

AC:B for PC DOESN'T have always-on DRM.

For people asking about the DRM:
Ubisoft confirms that the PC version of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, after an initial login, will be playable offline in single player mode.

That's all I can say at present.
I am sure that closer to the release, more info will become available.
Also it comes with all (thus far announced) console version premium DLC for free and it'll sell for $50 USD, not the standard $60 USD dictated by Activision pricing.

That's a pretty pessimistic assumption, considering they've done a great job of making everything in the first two games revolve around current-day events rather than the animus. But you've already jumped in with both feet, as usual, so go ahead an defend that untenable position to the death.

That's... actually not bad. Might think about getting this if the multiplayer's good.
