Again with the first of alls: there's no need to be a dick. Grammar?
He's not saying fleeing is ridiculous, he's saying it's ridiculous that the instant you kill someone, the whole place goes nuts- there's no way to kill someone without anyone noticing. And no way to kill from afar- I can see personal bodyguards instantly noticing, but can't we shoot an arrow, or throw a knife, from sufficiently far away that they don't immediately know our location?
Also, somewhat silly (but whatever, really) is that you stab someone in the middle of a public square and then proceed to have a five minute conversation with them.
Anyway, I still loved the game, but I'm easy.

I took the five-minute conversation bits to be more of a jiggering about with other parts of the DNA memories of Altair, showing parts of his knowledge that pertained to the target that were relevant to the event but not part of it, rather than a sequence that would actually have taken place during Altair's assassination itself - hence the fact that the background was the Animus 'fog' effect rather than the assassination location.
I know that's not explained very well, so sorry.
Plus, we all know that English isn't mothra's first language, don't we?

I always figured that the assasinations in this game weren't just about killing someone, but sending a message to those who might follow in their footsteps. Also, I think the assasin had to get the target's blood on a feather to signify that the deed was done. This, combined with the necessity to the debrief afterwards (most of which I thought were actually quite intelligent), seems like you would have to get up close and personal.

thanks, someone that actually reads instead of already forming a sharp and seemingly witty insult when reading the poster's NAME instead of the post's content.

Incidentally, Wikipedia (I know, I know) claims that hashshashins were generally careful to kill their targets in as public a place a possible, to reinforce their fearsome reputation. The game may be forcing that public deaths in order to be more historically accurate.

I just got Assassin's Creed (Director's Cut) for the PC today and so far it's been quite good. It reminds me of PoP a lot with a slight Thief element.
So far I've just caught the Templar informant and heading to Damascus.
I really love the game mechanics like blending etc and the graphics are pretty well developed. My only qualm is that you can't save whenever you want, the checkpoint system is rather annoying and the controls can get a little a confusing during critical moments,

I bought AC at the weekend. I think it looks great and the gameplay mechanics are fun however I feel the full potential of the games expansive environment is wasted on repetitive and dull side missions (and flag collection, why?!). It’s a shame because I think a little more consideration on the missions would have made AC a great game rather than a just good one.
Also, does anyone else find the exit game procedure unnecessarily convoluted?
