Rent it. Or borrow it. I thought it was fun but completely lost interest a third of the way through.
IMO games need to either have a linear structure where each mission has a different environment to keep things interesting, or if it's open-world they need something to preoccupy you to keep from the environment getting stagnant. Randomly stumbling on flags does not count.

I know you're joking, but I honestly went into it with zero expectations, apart from good graphics and good animations.

The only good thing about the game really was the atmosphere/city design, which they completely failed to integrate into the gameplay in any meaningful way.

Got it for £9.99. Don't know what that is in Mickey Mouse money though. I wouldn't have got it if it weren't so cheap either.

That's about $14 in the US. Very cheap indeed.

Eeh, I liked it well enough, and still replay it from time to time; mostly flag hunting and templar killing. Then again, I also play for the story sometimes, I find it was generally well-written, especially when compared to the other stuff that came before and after it.
I still can't help but start some shit every now and then with the guards for no other reason than to amuse myself, though. :erg:

As far as the storyline goes, I also liked it, but I definitely felt that it was a game you had to let yourself be fooled by. It was fairly obvious where the game was going the whole time, but as long as you played along it was pretty solid.

Got bored after about the first two hours of play.
There is about as much stealth in AC than the pretentious Hitman series.
Another over-hyped game with a bad case of consolitis.

It's not consolitis, you simpleton, it's just poor design.
Overman on 29/1/2009 at 04:23
And 'poor design' can't possibly include the fact that a game is a poor console port?
Sounds like something a 'simpleton' would think.
