Then again, those "exciting moments" don't "feel flat and as if they’re being played by someone else" at all in the Zelda games. So I'd wait with premature judgements like these.

Yeah, well let me know if Zelda was heralded as a parkour-inspired stealth and evasion game set in the Middle Ages.

that there is no jump button is old news.
the devs talked about the "context-sensitive-auto-maneuvering" for quite some time. unfortunatley they pushed the PC release to sometime 2008. until then I will have a media blockout. I don't care for < jump > , after the satisfying combat in the Witcher I'm ready for some time-controlled slashing again.

It doesn't seem like non-news everywhere I've seen this review break before it got pulled, also I think the case for "context-sensitive-auto-maneuvering" makes a lot of sense when negotiating crowds etc, but the parkour inspired stuff to be completely automated?
That's like playing splinter cell and not actually every actively doing any stealth just pressing the forward key and Sam Fisher ducks, rolls, climbs pipes, scissor jumps walls etc. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Shit, it's beginning to sound like Dragon's Lair all over again.

Ridiculous is my first thought, too.
The game looks like it's in line with Prince of Persia and Tomb Raider, a lot of physicality and movement and using the environment ... and then they gut it by taking out the central way a player can interact with that.
Damn, I was under the impression this was going to be like Prince of Persia on speed ... more like Ambien.

Is a demo planned for this? If so, I'm not judging the controls of the game based on what people write about them. That sort of thing is something I'd have to try out myself.
Shakey-Lo on 31/10/2007 at 08:14
No, it has been announced that no demo is coming.

Ah. Hm. Well, in that case, I guess I'll wait for some reviews by the sites that I trust, and by players.
