Because that'll change the lack of jump button in a game centred around various gimmicks, probably the most hyped of which is their parkour-inspired climbing, evasion and general transport. I agree this isn't exactly a gamer-credible site, but if the facts are the facts are the facts...

I think I would be more inclined to believe opinions on TTLG than any website with paid reviewers. GenGaming is my first stop when looking for opinions on a game, I don't even browse review sites any longer.

I trust some people here in some respects, but like so many internet forums there's a strong tendency here to pigeonhole things as "Teh sux!!!!!!1!1" or "Best thing ever!"

Hmm, definitely a growing case of "Wait & See" here.
One of my workmates who's only just got into xbox360 gaming is slathering at the mouth for Assassin's Creed, which is ringing alarm bells with me.
Looks like the hype machine is doing it's job.

If a lot of the gameplay involves leaping from narrow beam to narrow beam with perfect timing, and other such 'jumping puzzles' that are so loudly derided by the hordes of people who hate that kind of thing, then I can only imagine that making the player do every jump manually would be a death-blow from a gameplay perspective.
That's not to say there's no middle ground at all, but if they've designed the levels around the concept that your character has this incredible agility and timing, then I'm dubious that you could go much beyond allowing the player to determine the movement 'mode' at any given time (e.g. walking, running, and leap-o-matic) without having the character constantly tripping over his own boot laces because the player can't keep up.
And if you make it easier for the player, it doesn't look as impressive, because the levels can only be as complicated as the average player can manage to navigate.
As it is, one presumes that (a) the movements of your character can be fast and varied, and (b) you won't be wanting to hit the monitor because you were a few pixels out.
Yeah, it takes away the fun of doing it all yourself, but that just means that it's up to them to keep your mind occupied with
other gameplay mechanics, so that you actually appreciate not having to press a button at exactly the right moment just to keep your master assassin from falling on his arse like a drunken oaf, while you concentrate on what the important stuff is in this game.
If there is no more important stuff, then they've probably fucked it up. But hey; that's what demos are for.

No, it has been announced that no demo is coming.
Ah. That's unfortunate. Here's hoping they change their minds.

Yeah.
Never a good sign really.

Yeah, nothing screams "We have complete lack of confidence in our product and want it to sell on marketing alone" more to me than a developer refusing to release a demo.

I'm loving the way Jade is all over the previews and whatnots because she's a hottie. Nerds lol.
Scots - that spoiler, or something similar, was such an obvious conclusion to reach just from things Jade has said. I haven't read anything about until this thread but it was along the lines of what I was thinking and in fact I was going to post about it. It's stupid, or naive, of them to release even small bits of info like this then say "But we don't want to say anymore incase we spoil it."
Let's see: sequels set later in time to this game, repercussions for the present day, and that dna/tech/whatever overlay occasionally flickering on the screen in the preview videos. Hmmm, I wonder....
It seems to me that this is very much an American entertainment disease. It's like those American movie trailers that basically tell you the entire plot, or the way at the end of American Lost you get the "next time on Lost" that we don't. It's like US entertainment companies are petrified that what they are giving isn't good enough and they need to tease to please. Sadly the tease is often stupidly misleading (e.g. that clip of Jin speaking in english during Lost series) or just spoilerish like for this game.
As to taking out jumping - fly by wire people. It's more fun when you can't lose!

Subjective, sure Jade is good looking but she also was heavily involved in the making of the game, so I don't see a problem with utilising her for their marketing.
