glwhalen - thank you, you star! Though even in my brighter days I'd never have worked that out.

Stuck in the second part of the gas maze
Help!
I'm in the second part of the maze...in a room with a big cylinder, three switches and two locks which I can't do a thing with.
Edit: works every time - post and two seconds later, you'll find the answer.

You'll need the two node keys, use the teleporter to exit the maze section and start searching for the keys.

Finished! Really an ingenious mission :D
I had the same problem with the door at the start as many others, but after I installed the Scripts everything worked fine.
The mission really gave me a headache on several occassions. But after carefully reading all the manuals it all makes sense, and it's not as difficult as it seems.
This mission has plenty of new ideas that work very well, like the weight bridge, dealing with the karras clones and the labyrinth procedure.
Other things I like are the Gas Mask and the new weapons. That desintegrate mine is horribly affective, I managed to desintegrate 13 mechanists with one mine :sly:
Before starting I expected a small preview mission, without a story and only meant to show the Gas Mask in action. But the opposite is true. Excellent work sterlino :thumb:
Still I found some critical bugs in the mission :erg::
1: The loot objective failed in the middle of the mission for some reason.
I only found around half of the available loot, and I believe when I blew up the 2nd lab machines with a time bomb, the objective failed.
2: In the engine room is an elevator that leads to the main entrance.
Above is a small room where a mechanist engineer is stationed.
When i took the elevator up, the alerted mechanist was pushed through the ceiling when he walked over the platform.
This makes it impossible to grab the 'Ltd's room' gear he carries.
3: About the small hidden room with valuables inside the maze.
I opened one of the two boxes that contains a statue, and an 'New Objective' message appears.
When I viewed my objective screen however I only saw a checked of objective box without any text behind it.

You also need the updated gen.osm file. After i updated this, the door opened after a second or two. There should be a link to this file in the FAQ.
Edit: (
http://www.thiefmissions.com/darkloader/ThiefScripts.zip) Here's the link to the file containing the updated gen.osm Extract it into your main T2 directory.
Now i got it working, i can play! Thanks Sterlino. I've been looking forward to seeing your mask in action. :D
The link you posted is for a gen.osm file dating back to march 27, 2000 the file I have is from July 18, 2000. I'm not to sure if I want to remove the newer
file to be able to play Assault at the Gas Station FM. Don't want to screw up any future FM's !

Check the gen.osm for the presence of "TrapTimedRelay" by opening it in an editor and search for that string. If it's not in there you'll need to replace that file by the one provided in sluggs' post. If you want to make sure you don't loose your "old" file, just rename it to "gen.osm.orig" or something like that.

Acolyte6: I thought I had the latest one, dated March 27 2000. It works well, and I can play all the latest missions without any problems.
I concur with SinisterShadow - rename your newer dubious one to say "dodgygen.osm", then try the one that sluggs pointed you at. The dubious one probably has other things wrong with it too.

I successfully got through the gas labyrinth and after opening the door, hitting a couple wall switches and KO'ing a couple mechanists I find myself in a sealed corridor with no way out. At the end is a dead end gas filled corrider with a wall lever which does nothing when I hit it. There is an unfrobbable grate in the ceiling from which a cloud seems to be coming out.
Help! I can't figure this one out!!!

bobber: That wall lever opens another (gas-filled) alcove in the SE corner. Hit the lever there to open the room you are seeking.
