Hi TTLG, new guy here
So yeah I need help with darkLoader. I managed to get it to find TG with it but I've been trying to get the FM "Shadow Politics" to appear on it and it doesn't work. I also can't seem to load T2 on DL either despite selecting a folder that has the exe. in it.

What version of Darkloader are you using? Have you upgraded your Thief Gold and Thief 2 using the NewDark v1.21 patch?

With NewDark v1.2.1 it comes with an fm-selector which is the best fm loader so far, and will play T1,TG,T2, and if you have installed the Sneaky upgrade, then you can play T3.
If you by chance were already using NewDark, then you will have some problems using Darkloader. It would require changing info in the darkloader.ini, and is a pain.

I already got TFix for TG and I'm using 1.21 for T2. I already had ND for T2 before darkloader.

My best suggestion then, is to install fm-selector, once you use it, you won't want Darkloader v4.3 again, because if you continue to use Darkloader you will find it frustrating having to edit the .ini file constantly.

Welcome to the forum, peopleperson! It's always great to see new people here.
Darthslair is right that FM Selector is a good choice but some people still prefer Darkloader. Personally, I use both. Sometimes I can't get a mission to run correctly in one or the other but one of them will always work. So if you'd like to get Darkloader working, here are a couple of things to check:
1. What version of windows are you using? What folder is Darkloader installed in? What folder is Thief installed in?
In Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, you cannot have either Darkloader nor Thief installed in the Program Files folder. They should be installed somewhere else. For example: C:\Games\Thief and C:\Games\Darkloader.
2. Where are your FMs installed? They need a folder of their own. I think most people probably have separate folders for T1 FMs, T2 FMs, etc. But wherever they are, you have to be sure Darkloader is pointed to them.

To add to what Tannar has said. For me it was as simple as right clicking on the DarkLoader exec. icon and choosing run as Administrator in the properties
