Now is the chance to put the spotlight on your favourite non-English-speaking voice actors for the official Thief series. I would like to try to assemble the unsung and under-sung heroes of the international official Thief games' fanbase in one thread. I know names have been mentioned elsewhere here and there, but usually in a competitive way. This would be more out of gratitude for the fun these actors gave such a large percent of the non-English fanbase.
So, yeah, aside from Stephen Russell's Garrett, how many official Garrett's are there, and who voices them?
I've read about the German Garrett and French Karras, but are they the only favourites outside the U.S.? Are there other favourite versions of Benny, Karras, Raoul, Mages, Mechanist women and men, Pagan people and beasts, Elder Hammerite, ninny servant, and commoners, Artemus, Gamall, Orland, Viktoria, and Contantine, The Eye? Any other supporting characters?
Ultimately, I'm looking for something like this:
The language, the character's name in that language, and the voice actor.
...And for as many as everyone feels should get highlighted once again, or for the first time, here.
Thanks! And please let others on other sites know, so no favourite is left out!

It's very considerate of you to use the European spelling...;)

I've seen taffers spell character names in ways that don't just look like typos--as the typical Gareth, Garett, Garret...or Gamal--and whenever I've asked about spellings in other language versions, I only get silence for some reason. I don't mean to embarrass anyone, if that's even what's happening. Years ago, and what started me wondering, I saw Azaran spelled pretty differently, beginning with an "I", and always wonder at some of the translation choices, whether it's a pronunciation issue, a name that resembles an inappropriate word in the language, or some other cultural or linguistic need.
An internationally known author had a chat-room, and one of her visitors was her French translator, and he would ask her to explain the choices behind her characters' names, so he could translate it accurately for French readers, and it didn't matter if a name was an English word--like Nettle or Chivalry--or a made-up name, so I got to thinking about it again. I've been disappointed that the international taffers who write about the Thief games have only adopted the English pronouns, and rarely, if ever, mention the variations, though I suspect the names have been carried over into fan-fiction and FMs, but I have no idea how often that may have occurred.
At least for TDS I could go through the schemas and see if there are variants in the other languages when a pronoun is used, so I'll do that, but TDP/Gold and TMA
I hope to have a completed Names List, at the very least, but would like to see more of the world, here.
Thanks again, and sorry if this is bothersome.

gnartsch recently made a (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140075) tool to extract all the text entries in a specific language into a single, more readable text file. Meant for translation work, but it sounds like it could be useful here too.
