Hello there people. My names Dii and im new here,
been playing theif for a very long time, and like most games i play, i never knew it had a community behind it, or fan missions etc, so im very happy ive found this place :)
Also I dont mean to taff you around, but im wondering if you could help me.
Im looking to get hold of the Audio streams for the Hammer Ghosts and Haunts so that i can make a super cool ringtone out of them.
How would'st one beget equipment to take on such a task, fore recording in game doth swiftly lead to my demise.

Rename the snd.crf in the "RES" folder to .zip and open it with the zip program of your choice. :)

Just don't forget to rename it back before playing! Or, make a copy and rename that. Or better still, right click and Open with... and choose your ZIP program, thus associating all CRFs with it.

I just copied the folder to my desktop and opened it there.
its interesting,
"To Stone! Bow to the woodsie lord, and offer up your flesh, so his eye of stone can see, man fool."
this is what the hammer ghosts say, only thing is its reversed ingame. i did think it was a little funny all that gibberish they creep me out with, thought itd sound funnier backwards but it made sence.. lol.
funny how that works.
so its true that the Pagans poses the corpses of fallen Hammerites, i thought they were "just zombies" but they have a reason for existing
thanks for your help.

Yes, it's true, the ghost says that. We've know fow a while. We still can't figure out all of what the haunts are saying ((
http://thief.wikia.com/wiki/TG_Sound_Folder:_Haunts) (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10684)) And speaking of haunts, I would say no, they arent pagan possessed. It could be from any old haunting, or like those in the catacombs of the Eastport Mechanist Seminary, hammer souls at unrest due to the Mechanist heresy. I guess. But the zombies in the graveyard of Fort ironwood are becuase of a pagan.

Desecration of Hammerite graves results in the possession of the bodies.
Now, it is creepiest in the Haunted Cathedral, because it was the Trickster who did desecrate the graves, and then The Eye made sport of it, taking control of some undead, yet there is that Pagan connection, but the spirits who do the possessing are demon-kind, not Pagan themselves. Pagans, who embrace death as a welcome, normal, and powerful part of life, in a world where necromantic phenomena are also common and kinda normal, and who acknowledge all natural forces, can work necromancy to some extent, so there's a connection, too. Yet, outside the Haunted Cathedral, there are places where graves were desecrated by those other than Pagans, so it becomes a continuity issue to give any credit to the Pagans in those cases. Mechanists and Keepers have the least ghosts, Haunts, and apparitions in their territories, and many Pagans who die by the Hammers' cruelty come back as various undead, either phantoms or zombies.

this is what I can make out from one of the haunt ambiences.
