That is so right! Try some music with tempo changes. You get more corkscrews and twisty bits with those.
Im not sure corkscrews have a logic. At least I didnt find any, and I know others who thought about it harder than me and still didnt find a pattern.
But anway, if he didnt like the game, I dont think the corkscrews will swing it for him. I find their implementation poor- I have to tilt my head cos of the camera taking a new angle and the perspective of the blocks looks all screwy and blotched.
Id rather have the camera stay in the "1st person" pov, the way it was in the beta or so Ive heared. The gameplay may be more challenging in this new way but personally I dont give a fuck- Im here just for the ride.

the curves in the track i believe come from long sustained notes, and corkscrews are I think especially loud long sustained notes. I could be completely wrong.
in the blue danube that i linked to, sometimes when you play (i think on the medium pusher) there is a corkscrew that just seems so... right.

Bawitdaba [...] is all it took to convince me.
Haha, hell yes. Long build-ups, strong beats and some intersting tempo changes seems to be just the ticket.
Some other songs that are a lot of fun to ride:
Linkin Park - Session (you could think it was
made for this game)
Muse - Knights of Cydonia (duh)
Los Campesinos! - You! Me! Dancing!
Chemical Brothers - Galvanize

I have decided to bump this to introduce: THE TTLG AUDIOSURF CHALLENGE! Wherein a song and mode is presented, those who are interested have a week or so to play it and post scores, and the winner gets bragging rights and picks next song and mode. Hopefully there will be takers.
First challenge being: LCD Soundsystem: All My Friends Ninja Mono + Ironmode. Which I have yet to successfully finish, because that final stretch is unexpectedly a nightmare sent straight from hell.
In the event no one has the song, (and shame on you if you don't, 'cuz it's great) say so and it shall magically appear on Rapidshare or something.
Final Score: 227,822

That was one of the most annoying songs I ever played, both because of the song itself and because of the track.
I'm out.

I don't have the song. However, I approve of this challenge, since my Audiosurf Internets scoreboards never show up.

Dont know the band but I like the idea, count me in.
I searched for a torrent but only found quicktime files. No way Im installing that douchy software so I guess it's time for you to link it here.

What I'd like to see is a concerted effort to identify what influences the track creation -- overall bandwidth levels, sharp sounds, sustained multi-octave chords, etc etc -- and have the musically-inclined (and recording-enabled) of us compose and distribute deliberately sculpted competition tracks.
