Indeed, one of the achievements requires you to play a song of at least 11 minutes, so the limit is at least a little more than ten minutes.

this is the best ten bucks I have ever spent oh holy shit :o
(ps I actually came in here to make an Audiosurf thread as I have just heard about it, downloaded the demo, played the demo twice and said "oh holy shit" and whipped out the Mastercard, but GenGaming is waaaay ahead of me and I shamefully admit that I probably haven't been reading this forum as much as I should)

Of my four songs (okay one was captain beefheart so that doesn't count), none of em really worked like anything other than a visualization that does an above-average job of detecting the tempo.
And then when things speed up it's like the track is trying to ejaculate.
I figured Justice would be fantastic, but no. If not Justice, than what? My demo's worn out and I'm not convinced. I need a few more songs to decide if this is worth it.

Bawitaba and Come Sail Away is all it took to convince me.

I think the limit is around 25 minutes, actually. I've done Right of Spring and The Firebird Suite, and they're both 22 minutes long.
I believe you are right and I was wrong. Thank god for that.

Completely agreed. I don't know if I just picked shitty songs or what but this seems like a decent idea in search of game play.

I actually found a beta demo and got a few more songs out of it. I searched around and found a song with pronounced dynamics (heavy drumming then a break, then more drumming etc) and while the visuals certainly reacted to the sound more enthusiastically, it still wasn't especially fun.
And even if it was, I don't own enough of these on/off style tracks to make it worthwhile.
Audiosurf Final Verdict:

Did neither of you try Atlas (or anything else off of Mirrored, really)? Atlas on Ninja Mono is what sold me.

Gosh, some people really have existential problems with it.
Yeah, Audiosurf won't work with your triphop or whatever, try for example Dragonforce. You don't listen to Dragonforce? Well neither do I, but it works and it's awesome.
