Did neither of you try Atlas (or anything else off of Mirrored, really)? Atlas on Ninja Mono is what sold me.
Good suggestion, but my four songs are already up.
I picked songs from a variety of styles, and while it was cool to ride a rollercoaster made out of music, ultimately the game itself wasn't very compelling. There was no hook.
My four songs:
Justice - "Genesis"
Hanzel Und Gretyl - "Stern Krieg"
Grand Theft Audio - "Stoopid Ass"
Nine Inch Nails - "Wish"

I tried Atlas first. It was mediocre.

Aw this makes me sad because I think you guys are missing out on something way fun.
Did you not ever get into a good groove on any of the songs you played? Cause when you get going on one of the mono modes (fuck all the other modes, I hated them all when I first tried playing it and really wasn't impressed with them at all) and can pick up the beat it's exactly like ddr in that the way the music goes tells you how to move and it's like the rockinist road trip plus space mountain thing ever.
I dunno, it's ten dollars. I think there's a good chance that it'd grow on you enough to be worth it once you get a chance to try more things, but then I don't know exactly how far your disinterest goes.

Does anyone else just like to sit back and watch the freeride mode? The visualisation of "Glosoli" by Sigur Ros is simply beautiful to watch; in fact a lot of their "Takk" album is - that's why I'd love to be able to do it all in one go.

Justice - "Genesis"
I'll be first to admit that that song was horribly disappointing, and I can't figure out why.

Well, it's like this:
Yesterday I saw the Wii Bee Movie game was on sale at Best Buy for $6.99. I knew nothing about it.
Audiosurf is on sale for $10. I know something about it and that something is that I didn't find it fun.
I didn't buy the Bee Movie game.

What are you saying that you're thrifty because I won't stand for it.
Fafhrd on 2/3/2008 at 22:11
Those fuckers changed the rules for Ninja Mono! You can't spread fins or shuriken greys anymore, and hitting a grey erases all the colored squares you have. Bastards.
[edit]nm, I was playing ironmode. stupid me
Koki on 3/3/2008 at 06:38
That's why I love Ironmode, I was never using these gimmicks anyway.

That is so right! Try some music with tempo changes. You get more corkscrews and twisty bits with those.
