Hm. I never did become a Rad-X addict. Rad away, on the other hand....

If you were taking Rad-X like a good boy you wouldn't need Rad Away now would you.

So now if people pirate L4D2 in Australia is that ok since there are no lost potential sales anyway?

Pirating L4D2 (good god, that name sounds like a Star Wars acronym) would be a bitch considering it's a multiplayer game first and foremost that runs completely off Steam. Sure, you can go for the single player, but that's not really what people are going to get the game for.
Fair point, though. I imagine if a single player game of the same calibre was banned in Oz, you'd have a fair few willing to pirate it if that's their only recourse.

There's also the fact that you can import it. Unless Oz makes that illegal I don't see piracy being that much of an issue with regards to L4D2.

Importing unclassified games is illegal in Australia, iirc, even for 'personal use'. It just isn't particularly enforced and/or you aren't very likely to be caught doing it so long as you are not selling or publicly displaying them.

This is the stupidest thing ever.
I can understand them not classifying it and not allowing it to be sold in Australia but it not being classified make it an illegal product? Just to own? Are saying that L4D2 is contraband in Australia?
Surely it should be like A Clockwork Orange used to be here. Not sold but not illegal to bring in to the country or watch.

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure their definition of 'importation' includes single copies for personal use- it does here. You can't really blame Valve for not allowing gifting either, if they allowed it they would face potential prison sentences, fines and getting Steam blacklisted (well, when the Great Wall of 'Strine goes into operation, anyway).
Can't say I care about l4d2 at all, but I suspect their ban on Risen is why we still don't have a release date for it here.
