Down where I am from is small, small towns and hills. It is very Democrat friendly. Might have something to do with the income and the fact that Hocking College and Ohio University are right there, too.

@ Heywood. I am from Nelsonville (11 miles up from Athens). Familiar with it? This is around the area I speak of. Up to as far north as Logan where several other family members live.
Does it have a scenic railway? If so, I remember it and I've been there 2 or 3 times, but the last time was probably 1999 so I wouldn't say I'm familiar with it. I recall a small town with a pretty looking historic town square in the middle of good motorcycling country. Had lunch at a nice diner. That's about it.
I think Ohio is under-rated. Especially the people.

You would say that since you don't live here :)

I spent 4 years in Dayton. Had better friends and coworkers there than anywhere else I've been. Might have been a right time & place thing though.

Ha, that railway... HILARIOUS. I went to a fake wild west train robbery on it. The 'scenic' railway is all of 10 mins. long. Then they hit reverse and go straight back to start.
The town square was featured in the old 80's movie 'Mischief', and my cousin owns the deli on the square there.

Rise from your grave *chants.
An update to this thread from last year. The inquiry into price markups by game and software companies when selling their products here has released some of its findings:
(

For those too lazy to read the article, the government committee is basically recommending the very thing that many of us are already doing. Creating accounts on things like amazon etc and just saying that we live in the US in order to get the prices at what they should be, rather than the massively marked up prices that we are having to put up with.
I find that amazing to hear that from the government. Even our own governments dodgy these days. lol. Why not just force the companies to charge the same prices here, as what they do in the US? Simple.
In the meantime, go create those fake accounts peoples. If the government itself is telling us to do it, then who are we to argue.

Oh man. I had to read that twice when I saw it. "Are they really saying what I think they're saying?"
Ha. Essentially "Fuck 'em!"

Our wonderful government endorses fraud. Well, we are descended from convicts after-all ;).
