If your goal is not to make as many fans as possible happy but to enact some form of social crusade then please, market and advertise the game as such. If you believe there are a substantial number of players who would appreciate those features, then advertise it and create trailers for it, don't lead me to believe that this game was crafted for the straight male. If you truly believe that the straight male gamers are not important enough that more focus is not warranted, then I would like to see your marketing reflect that. (

There it is. It's all right there. He was duped, as I would have been duped. The description of the game mentions nothing of this content and it would have cost nothing to Bioware to give the potential customer a more detailed and better description of its unusual features. The various sources to purchase DA2 also fail to mention its peculiar content, only 'sexual content'. When I think of sexual content I most certainly do not think of homosexual content or a 'how to' guide on seducing a homosexual. Now that I know of its content, I can make the decision not to purchase DA2. Unfortunately for him it's to late.
I go out of my way to purchase games legitimately. The least a company like Bioware can do is give a proper description of its games to newcomers of the Dragon Age series. Not all of us have played Dragon Age or know of its content.
@Demagogue: Thanks for the link, interesting read. Never heard of 'grass-eaters' until now. ;)

A) If you're actually playing as a pure straight male, the only 'homo' tone you'll encounter in normal play is one comment from Anders, and if you politely decline it, it will never come up again. I know, I played through the entire game as a straight male.
That's precisely two lines of dialog. If you encounter more then that, you're doing something. And frankly, if you're talking to another male and picking the responses with the heart - which you have to be doing to encounter this stuff - well then, what the fuck did you expect?
B) Anybody who can take one look at Isabella and still say straight male gamers aren't being focused on has their head up their own ass.
C) Based on TTLG's Mass Effect stories alone, apparently your average straight male game is quite comfortable with having their virtual avatar fuck a guy.

Y'all need to come to Second Life sometime if you really want to see homosexual gaming.

That's all they need to tell you. The fact that it's optionally gay in nature is not adding some extra level of inappropriateness for minors (ie the sort of thing that needs a warning label).
And I've not played this myself but it appears that straight males can still, er, play straight characters if they like?

Heard there's black people in dragon age, better put a label on there, it might offend someone.

Whats wrong with giving someone a choice?

Steve's Party? What? I thought this was Dragon Age 2! I can't get off to this!
...wait. Maybe I can. I need to see this as a challenge.

You are a terrible person and you should be ashamed of yourself. Oh no, DA2 has gay options! So did Dragon Age: Origins, Jade Empire, Vampire: Bloodlines, Fallout 2
and 3, Mass Effect 1
and 2, and so on. Well, guess what? In Arcanum you can fuck a sheep. Sex is something people
do, regardless of gender or species, and in Bioware games they're something you have to be actively working towards. You're demanding a warning for 'peculiar' content? (Wow, what an awful choice of word you picked.) The ESRB already makes note of DA2's sexual content. What more do you want? Do you even realize how douchey you sound demanding a warning for same-sex sexual content? "NOBODY TOLD ME THERE WERE FAGS IN THIS GAME!!!1"
Fuck you, and fuck anyone who thinks like you. And for God's sake, I don't mean that literally... you might be offended.
