I had to end the first game because of the loot requirement. Got 3620 out of 3660 listed, requirement shows 4000. Deleted and started new game today, loot still shows 4000 required and now shows that there is only 3885 total in the game. Also,
I read that there were mines across from the office building. I roped up to the wooden ledge but couldn't find anything. Playing on expert.
Thanks coreyb2

Not sure why this should happen. I went and added another 1000 in loot, which should've put it over the top. I do see that Dromed reports a loot total, but it doesn't match what's actually in the game.
Incidentally, the only difference between the difficulty levels are the loot requirements. If I EVER make another mission, I'm gonna put the goal at $100 and add to the level design itself $1,000.

I've received your second message, 14.5 hours after you sent it. Again, the headers indicate that it spent significant time on your system before being received by your provider.
Adelphia (my ISP) was recently taken over by Time Warner, so I suspect that they are in the process of shaking bones and feathers over the servers as they chant, "No noticeable interruption in service!"

...as soon as I press CONTINUE...crash...wtf ??? And yes I do use a no CD exe
OK..I found the problem...its movie b21...I just went into my Thief2/movies folder after installuing this Fan mission and put the b21 file in a folder of its own..just "Newfolder" and restarted the game and all is good. I saved it so when I am done and want to play a different mission I will put it back before doing so so I dont confuse darkloader.
I too use the NoCD patch with no prob. Check this (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031#diskspace)
link:
"This problem often arises because of conflicts with some other programs such as Realplayer or Windows Media Player, the video codecs become corrupted and no longer work. There is an incompatibility between the Indeo codecs and Windows XP. If you wish to view the ingame movies and have Windows XP you must install the codecs every time you play Thief." End quote.
AVI files are not part of the Thief engine. A simple script within the engine launches the movie...nothing to do with the game. Once the movie is done, the game then launches.
I was charged with checking computers that people returned at Wal-Mart, who were claiming the machines didn't work. One of the biggest problems was that they would take them home, hook up the Internet, and begin downloading all kinds of players, toolbars, and useless eye candy. As a result, music and videos quit playing because of conflicting codecs, registration errors, and Winblows in general.
Not saying you're guilty. I keep a "clean" machine (no screen savers or other civilian crap hogging up the icon tray), and I still have problems at times.

Looking for loot; I have 3490 out of "3885", though I'm assuming there is actually more in the game that isn't being reported on the stats page.
So assuming I need 510 to graduate, where might I find it?
I've already looted the bank and gotten the 1000 purse on the roof near Uncle's Key, and I got the loot in the other offices of the Yardhouse; picked up little bits here and there. Is there some other cache I haven't found yet?
I'm playing on expert. Oh, I have one comment: I was able to ghost the entire mission except for the Yardmaster's office: is there some way to shut off those lights? I cannot seem to get in there without alerting the YM. I had to KO him, which of course busts the ghost wide open.
(I did enjoy ghosting the bank.)
...One comment, and now one guess: I'm not a DromEder, but... did you make the beautiful mirrored bathroom floors by duplicating the bathroom and putting it directly underneath the regular bathroom, flipping the duplicate upside-down and mirroring it along the axis of rotation, and then putting a semi-translucent piece of floor in between them?
I really liked them; the illusion was only spoiled by the fact that Garrett appears to have become a vampire who casts no reflection! (Of course, he traditionally has no shadow, either; so maybe he is one of the walking dead...)

That glossy bathroom floor is so inviting one needs to toss a couple of bodies on it to get an interesting effect.
