I'm pretty sure I remember hearing about this when it was first announced some years ago and thinking it was just another over-ambitious fan mod that will never see the light of day. When I've got some time I'll definitely give this a shot. I was never that enamoured with the nwn 2 interface (much preferred nwn 1) so am interested to see how well they have adapted it to bg.

Just in time for NWN2 to be as out of date now as BG was when it started.
Oh what the hell, it's a big accomplishment. They should feel proud of themselves. I still want to play the original, though, and would want to play it original before this.

Totally bro, let's all go play the F2P Neverwinter MMO instead... hah, yeah right.
Seriously though, I sort of agree. The Infinity Engine games with high res mods and increased readability GUI mods probably hold up whole a lot better tech wise, simply because they use sprites and hand-drawn backgrounds.
D&D rulesets though? NWN2's D&D3.5 is probably the best you'd get, since 4th Edition is MMO influenced excrement and AD&D rules in the Infinity Engine games is badly dated shit.

NWN2 was so poorly optimized that I bet most people interested in this still can't run it at full detail.

Balls. I wanna try this thing but it needs Storm of Zehir. I own NWN2 and MotB but never bothered with that last one, gotta source it.

FWIW, I wish somebody did something (/is doing something) this ambitious with Skyrim. In another 4 years it will still look awesome. That's the bright side of diminishing returns on Moore's law over time.

It's a shame that the NWN 2 engine doesn't look very good, and I expect that even tons of new textures wouldn't make it into a looker. The original bitmap maps of Baldur's Gate are low-res, but otherwise they've aged better than NWN 2, which already looked mediocre at best when it came out.
@Ostriig: Any idea how Morroblivion compares to the Morrowind Overhaul megamod?
