I know this is a fairly old topic, but this is my second time in the Deus Ex forums, so it's new to me.
I noticed this on my second time through the game, but perhaps I'm slightly more obsessive with the details than most. (I don't think I've finished the game in under 30 hours yet.) Two of the bank codes in the first Hell's Kitchen mission belong to the same person. One is the original account number and PIN, which are invalid because, according to the other datacube, that account has already been hacked and the account number and PIN were changed.
So I took the few credits that were left in the new account, and I didn't feel the least bit guilty about it, because this guy really needs to learn not to leave his datacubes lying around in alleys and behind plants. Apparently he learned his lesson this time, since I never noticed his name on any other bank account data cubes after that.
[edit] I don't know anything about the code that the original poster asked about. Those numbers don't look familiar. [/edit]

I've never succesfully smoked my way past a laser, but pepper spraying is easy. Walk up to one end of the beam, and crouch. Aim the spray at the emitter of the lowest beam, and strafe through while holding down the fire button, and turning to keep the emitter in your crosshairs. Note that this only works on red lasers, not blue.

Hm, I thought each ATM had a set amount of cash in them?
Like, the ATm has $300 in it. You use an account, and draw $200 off. Now if you hack it, it will be $100 left. So, basically, it's no matter whether you hack them or use the accounts first. With one difference: Along the way, you will happen upon double ATMs or ones, that are already empty (if you hack them). Double ATMs (two next to each other) are just two tries for the same ATM, so to speak.
Anyway, if an ATM has an amount of 0, you can still deduct money by using an account!
I exerienced that in Paris, when I got $300 from the account, hacked in, and it said -300 left...
Anyone check this out?
