WHOA!
Stop the train!
What is this?
You get to play as the Joker but only on PS3?
Well then, if this is a long edition (can't possibly be as long as the full main game) it will be the decider. Constumes shmostumes. The Joker!
Edit: 8 of the challenge maps, whatever they are. PS3 version also uses the motion control of the sixaxis. This was used to awesome effect in Heavenly Sword and I can see it here for the glide or batarangs.

I was thinking that ([cheapskate]and the PC version will be cheaper[/cheapskate]) but if there is a lot of extra content I'm a gameplay man, not a gfx whore so... :p

You know, mothra actually kind of has a point here. I downloaded the demo last night and found it to be a big middle finger to the PC user. I'm not saying it isn't incredible when played with a PS3 controller while reclining on a couch--I'll never know--but as a PC game I found it borderline unplayable.
I haven't played it on the PC, so I can't really judge it. But surely, it couldn't be a lobotomised Batman screensaver trying to masquerade as a PC game.
While consolitis does make games and their attendant control schemes seem like they pander to the IQ-deficient these days, I find it strange that the entire game could be made almost completely unenjoyable just by virtue of that.
Stitch on 31/8/2009 at 17:54
The control scheme is like a greatest hits collection of things that work well on a console but horribly on a PC.
Sulphur on 31/8/2009 at 18:04
Okay, so do you mean the control scheme is sort of an awkward mess on the PC? I guess it's the kind of port that needs a gamepad, then. That's a shame.

*sigh* It's not about graphics, it's about immersion. The game's subtle use of PhysX effects genuinely add to the game's atmosphere.
Yeah, I saw that video you linked to. Is the PhysX stuff not in the console versions then? It certainly does make a difference, especially the steam.

I almost forgot, the PC version already has a modding scene.
Really? You don't say!

I bunch of suit mods are out already!!
I like the Blue & Grey, the Black and the Carbon.
Its nuts, and they all look really good.
It is pretty damn cool though.
Between this and the PhysX I'm sold on PC. If my 8800GT can do the PhysX that is. I'll check.
Renzatic on 31/8/2009 at 18:09
Neat effects that add to the oh so elusive immersion factor? Yes
Worth waiting an extra month for? Not so much.
I WANT MY BATMAN NOW, DAMNIT!

It's possible, but then it would likely slow the game down to like 10fps, since it'd running in software on the CPU. Try running Warmonger or UT3 PhysX map with hardware acceleration turned off in the Nvidia control panel, the game is reduced to a slide show.
These are hardware-accelerated effects, it's impossible on PS3's RSX because it doesn't support CUDA (Nvidia's GPGPU language). RSX=modified Geforce 7800GTX, CUDA was introduced with the 8 series in 2006.
