I just finished this on the PS3. I don't know how you could attempt playing it without a joypad of some description but if you like Batman you don't really want to miss out on this game.
I use an Xbox 360 controller for my PC whenever necessary and its fine. Particularly for Bioshock. It's actually worth replaying Bioshock just for the experience of using the Xbox controller and I never usually replay games.

Stitch -
Lets put a smile on that face!
Finished it, adored it, flaws and all. Can't wait to replay it again in Hard difficulty -and- attempting to get all Riddler achievements.
Also, pretty cool that they are basing a lot of stuff in-game from the Arkham Asylum graphic novel, great stuff.

i had no trouble with the keyboard. e.g. mini-ninjas is a game that benefits from a controller (keyboard has been done bad) but Batman has such a limited featureset (compared to mini-ninjas) the devs had no chance to implement it bad (imo) but I can see where Stitch is coming from. It's sad, but what are you gonna do ? - besides not buying a console - I am playing RE4 (PC) atm and it's a game designed AROUND the flaws of the controller. the bad movement and bad precision is being used as a gameelement and it works if you can suspend the disbelief. For me, it justs looks like I am steering a lobotomized ex-circus performer through zombie marioland where it is suddenly forbidden to jump. it's ridiculous (especially the limited interaction with the environment - Guy can jump down 100 meters but he can't scale a fkn 10cm high ledge)......but as an setup for frantic action it's working. Dead Space used the same technique later, bad FOV helps with scares......

A lot of people cite RE's poor controls as a negative and I am one of them, but they seriously improved things with quick-turnaround, which makes running away from your enemies so much easier. I wish 1 and 2 could've had that. The limited interaction has a lot to do with most of the early games having backgrounds done in CG, which is similar to Alone In the Dark (which RE owes a lot to.)

I don't feel I can compare Mini Ninjas' controls with Batman since the Batman demo has so few of the full game features, or so it seems. MNs has a lot going on in the interface and yes its handled badly. The demo gives you access to a ton of stuff though so the failings are obvious.

Ah-ha, it turns out that anyone who's having trouble using the Glide ability is probably using a pirated copy of the game - apparently the program shuts off the use of that skill.

i don't have the same problems and my copy is legit. BUT the PC version is just badly tested. many points you can grapple out of the map, bad memory management and texture corruption. expect a patch soon. I had to use a "pirate" physix patch to get the game working, so I'm quite thankfull they already cracked it.
and btw, Batman does not get any more "meaningful" gadgets besides the batarang (only gel and grapple hook) in the demo. 99.9% of the game is like the demo, only variation in enemies numbers/weapons and a few "learn the pattern" bossfights.

Those playing it on PC and use PhysX: can you get maxed out physics and reasonable framerates if you're using a GTX 260 but don't have a second card in there as a dedicated physics accelerator?

I never said it wasn't.
