it's not me being defensive, I'm just saying that having a legit copy doesn't help much, I just worded it wrong. meaning: i don't have the glide error but a dozen other ones including texture corruption, grappling out of the map and corrupt savegames that forced me to restart the game. I didn't want you to think that I thought ... :)
PS: I use Physx on low together with an 8800 and have NO problems, only minor dip in framerates. but to be honest: the effects are not worth it. DX10 with "wet surfaces" just like STALKER:CS had would have benefited this game much more.

this way I got MirrorsEdged and Witcher(german) as well.

Those playing it on PC and use PhysX: can you get maxed out physics and reasonable framerates if you're using a GTX 260 but don't have a second card in there as a dedicated physics accelerator?
Try turning off AA from the launcher program.
Else the readme recommends a dedicated PPU when using a GTX260, when PhysX effects are turned on. In the demo with PhysX on High and 4xAA, it sometimes drops to 25fps in large rooms, I have a GTX275. I will add in a 9800GT as a PPU before the game's release though.

There was a time when a lot of review copies were not finalised versions of the game meaning that graphics and gameplay bugs were not neccessarily ironed out.
It became an issue in the UK because certain mags used to review of this unfinished code in order to get the exclusive early review but ultimately the reviews were flawed as they didn't have the full and final version.

nah, didn't look like it. it looks exactly like shots of the retail package but has a promo-review-version sticker on it and the DVD itself has some "promo"text on it as well.

Just "looking" like the retail package isn't enough. You'd have to check the version number and perhaps the readme, especially if it has promo-review-version on it. Suggests there are other versions, no?
