Kicking them off the ledge is also helpful. And funny.
...and can break the fight. A mook can get stuck on the ledge just out of your reach. This happened twice to me. Had to reload.

Bought this over the steam holiday sale
...but I have a realtek sound card, so it doesn't work :nono:

Since Google is apparently my friend and not yours, I've gone to the trouble of looking up the problem. You didn't bother listing specs so I had to make some guesses, but there are some reports that updating drivers seems to fix the problem. Grab the latest one (

I'm given to understand that this problem afflicted Mass Effect too- maybe it's an issue with the U3 engine that crops up from time to time?

Actually, I already googled all of that stuff and updated the drivers, and it only made the problem worse. Thanks, though.

Uh, okay. I was a little bit confused with boss battle, boss battle x 2, MEGA BOSS BATTLE, END.
Didn't realise I was that close.
I enjoyed the game but I think I had no idea how far I was through it... I was sure my % complete was still low ... is this due to Challenges etc?
My personal feeling is that the game succeeds so often by simply feeling cool while delivering a very slick experience like HL2 episodes and Max Payne 2. I enjoyed glide kicking an assailant spraying a bit of explosive gel then grappling onto a gargoyle, waiting for the goons to come a-huntin', then BOOM the gel, SWOOP in with my FUCKING BATCAPE, drop down, own some fools and stand looking BADASS afterwards while bats swarm me.
Yeah, roll on Arkham 2.

Pretty much.

Thanks to Digi and dethtoll for pointing me to the right thread.....
Interesting conundrum....After the Botanical Gardens, when the island is transformed by Ivy, you begin tracking her pheremones without any real trail. So I was just wandering around and playing with my new line launcher. I decided to head back to Intensive Treatment because I had a lot of uncompleted Riddler challenges there. Well apparently that's where I was supposed to go...? Because story stuff started happening and now I'm collecting spore pods for some anti-venom that quote "Ivy spoke about". But I never found Ivy, in fact I'm still supposedly tracking her pheremones. I did look up a walkthrough and I guess I was supposed to go to the mansion first and then head to IT. I don't necessarily think I broke the game but am kind of wondering if anyone else experienced this, or could possibly fill me in on what I missed in the mansion.
First post in a looooooong time. Hello again TTLG.

Welcome back Bionicman!
If you are where I think you are, you didn't miss too much: if Ivy is transforming the island you should have spoken to her once in the Botanical Gardens about the Venom plants - the anti-Venom plants you're looking for are to do with that. The only thing of note you missed in the mansion is a conversation with Aaron Cash telling you where to find the entrance to Killer Croc's lair - i.e. in Intensive Treatment.

Cool, thanks man.
Am really enjoying this game, especially the Riddles. Some of those are doozies.

Some of them aren't riddles, Riddler's just an asshole.
