Oddly it scheduled for 12th June in NZ. Maybe it's one of those once in a blue moon occurrences where European/Australasian territories get a major "AAA" console release first.

Nice. Thanks Eva. The NZ release date is my birthday. The last notable release date on my B-day was Call of Juarez.

This game is looking more and more like it's going to actually live up to its license. That hand-to-hand combat looks positively scrumptious.
For heaven's sake, I'm getting excited about a comic book video game adaptation. Someone hold me!!!

Following rumors that Batman: Arkham Asylum had been delayed until Q4 2009, co-publishers Eidos and Warner Bros. today confirmed that the game has indeed been postponed, though the revised release window falls just short of the rumored delay.
Once expected in June, Rocksteady's stealth-action PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 game will now hit "at the end of summer," implying a release no later than September 22.
"This additional time will allow us to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum is of the highest quality for gamers," Warner and Eidos explained in their statement.

Nice. Those brawling mechanics look sweet. Let's hope that the implementation is intuitive and not overly complex control, but with some strategic depth. Accurate collision detection too, thanks.
My local GameStop has a combat demo of this game on their demo PS3. The buttons are basically Jump, Attack, Dodge, and Batarang. At least, that's as far as it was showing.

I'm happy that they are delaying it to not sacrifice quality. I'd much rather wait a bit longer and get a much more stable and comfy game to play.

PC as well? That's new!
I'll probably give it a try, see how well it controls.
