Cannot unsee.

I could argue that Jeanette's look is similar to Harley out of costume, but I won't because I hate Rocksteady's designs for Harley.

Total agreement on that point.
I also thought the "how do you like my new uniform?" line from AA was rather funny... almost like Rocksteady knew that they had screwed up with her design, and were fishing for compliments from their players.

NOW I know why that new Harley Design had such an impact on me. Cannot be unseen, indeed. But in a good way.

Since I don't really know Harley Quinn from the comics, what's the problem with her outfit from your perspective? (I thought it fit in well with the overall
Arkham Asylum design, but I'm rarely a big fan of the 'skeevy stripper' look, because it seems to be aimed entirely at teenage boys. But that's independent of the character.)

I think Harley is supposed to look more like this:
And that, as opposed to the "skeevy stripper" look, is not at all aimed at teenage boys. :D

That's the point: sure, original Harley is fetish fuel, but done without resorting to the cheap "skeevy stripper" look as Pemptus put it, or, in fact, showing any skin at all. See also: Michelle Pfeiffer vs. Halle Berry as Catwoman.
Edit: which reminds me, the illustration for Catwoman in Arkham Asylum was fine (as was Harley's, in her classic costume), but then, of course, they had to go and give her absolute cleavage for her actual appearance in Arkham City.
