Someone on RPS claims (of Batman) that "they stripped it of all DRM. You can launch it from the launcher in the game files without even having Steam open."

Can anyone confirm this?

Tried with Arkham Asylum GOTY and it complains that Steam needs to be running.

AA retail key still does not get recognized by steam, AC went through without any problems.....

I emailed WB support about my retail key not working, they asked me to send them some pictures of my case and cd key so they could email me a steam key. Still waiting for it though.
