BatmanAA: a good idea ruined... - by bikerdude

What can I say...
I played the demo and thought, this is gonna be awesome, atmospheric, involving....
...but the reality was it turned out to be a good idea ruined by being another f***ing console conversion...
The downright annoying scarecrow fights, trying to move diagonally was only designed to work on a console controller... The bloody boring and repetitive boss fights, after Ivy I pretty much lost any and all motivation to carry on playing this game. They should have just scripted the boss fights for the pc, to remove the pain and I mean pain, my hands/wrists ached after the Ivy fight...
Don't buy this game if you thinks its gonna live upto the legend, or if you do find a cheat to skip them....

I had no problems with the scarecrow parts, it played just fine using keyboard & mouse. And after Ivy it's pretty much the end of the game, so your interest lasted (almost) long enough :p.
Granted, AA does suffer from consolitis, it was bearable though.

Oh, were we about due for another Bikerdude consolitis post?

My only issue with the k/m was cosmetic (i.e. it feels more at home playing with a gamepad), but I found the fairly functional. I managed to get that XBOX controller emulator to finally work and I'm replaying the game now; I can say with certainty that the Scarecrow parts don't play any better with a gamepad.
As for Ivy... she's very annoying the first time, until you find the trick. Ignore her horny zombies as much as possible (double-tap the space bar) and stay away from her weeds. Whenever that flower head opens up to reveal her, hit Q. You'll beat her in no time.

Ivy is the hardest part of the entire game, by far.
It was also like the '95%' mark, so really, you played almost the entire game just to complain now?

Horny zombies and weed. Why haven't I played this game yet?

At least he didn't make it in ThiefGen this time.

I thought it was a rather easy game. The only difficult parts I actually got annoyed were the fight with Ivy (though that becomes easy as well once you figure out the pattern) and the fight with the million goons at the last boss (I HATE those idiots with their zap-you-in-the-face stun sticks!). I played with the regular keyboard and mouse, though I did feel as though it was more proper to play it with a pad (not easier, just more in the mood).
To be fair, from some point on those cannon fodder enemies take so much of a beating it's just ridiculous. It didn't make the game harder, just tedious.
