EA name is RueOrintier. It's actually the same name I use for everything online, except for this place.
As for the knifing, it is a LITTLE better then in the beta. That said, there is still about a half a second of delay before the knife connects. I rember hating the way it worked originally. Coming from Modern Warfare 2 (instant murder) to BC2, it felt wrong.
Now I'm not sure if it's been tightened, or I've just grown used to it. I have no problem murdering entire squads with it now, where as before I'd struggle to get the timing and distance right with a single soldier.

Also, bonus fun fact I just discovered: The FOV is set at 55, which is pretty strange and considerably lower than most other games (many use 90). Fortunately, this is easilly editable - it's the last setting in settings.ini (in the My Documents BFBC2 folder) and it won't raise any Punkbuster alarms unless you try to set it to something insane like 200.

Whilst the former is fact, the "many use 90" part hasn't been true for a long time.
Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2 = 65
Borderlands and Bioshock = 75 (other Unreal Engine 3 games have similar FOVs).
All Source engine games = 75.
Thank the fact that most of these games are console ports.

Just FYI - very helpful Website utility to help calculate best FOV setting - based on a desired resolution:

Usually in FPS games where this is configurable, you adjust the horizontal field of view so you can see more to the left and right. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 uses vertical FOV instead, so it's a little harder to work out what you need to set it to.

That explains why BF:BC2 felt so damn weird compared to earlier titles.
I'm rather used to a horizontal FOV of 90, assuming 4:3 aspect ratio. Could've been UT 1999 that made 90 the standard for me, but I'm not sure.
What is it with cross-platform console/PC games and narrow FOV, anyway? Is it because they're usually played with a big screen at a distance?

I don't know, but I have never had a problem, nor had the need to tinker with FOV in a PC or console game in my life. I get people's need to do such things, but I don't notice any differences.

Garrettwannabe - that explains a lot. So BC2's "55" is really 85 horizontal on a 16:19 display - which is totally normal (or, as noted above, abnormally high).

16:19 display.

Things they seriously need to fix:
a.) The smoke grenade bug. Dunno if this effects the noob toob or not as I don't use it, but the smoke grenade launcher likes to glitch out and until the session resets every smoke grenade you fire clips through the map. It's a good time.
b.) The mortar bug. It still works, but the indicator showing you that you're targetting something stops working.
Both of these things are annoying as shit when you're trying to suppress the other team or create cover.

You're still using 4:3 or 5:4 displays? Once you've gotten accustomed to the lovely increased horizontal real estate of proper widescreen implementations in PC games, it can be hard to go back to tunnel vision.
