It is download ONLY, and only $15-$20.
Three maps and three classes sounds very close to the one map and 4-6 classes of the other Battlefield demos, and there's no way in hell I'm paying $20 for a demo.

Three maps and three classes is one more map and about the same number of classes as people have played in any other battlefield game.

This makes me sad.
BF 1942 was the most fun I ever had with a multiplayer game. It wasn't without issues, but I just found that there was an excellent mix of strategy and instant gratification. Plus, it was one of the only multiplayer games I've ever been really good at (I was a one-man army medic, wooo).
So while normally I want innovation, they could frankly released a clone of BF 1942 with tightened up mechanics (better physics, more consistent bullet spread and aiming mechanisms, etc). Battlefield 2 improved a lot of mechanics but was far more fast paced, and I appreciated the slow pace (relative to other online shooters) of 1942.
Why do they have to go and fuck it up:(
Also, only a few maps etc. for a cheap download, fine. But 24 players? I don't get how that makes sense You have a fully loaded jeep and that's a third of your team right there. You'd have to have really small maps, which defeats the purpose of having a vehicular-based game.

Frostbite Engine with DX11 support!
(

Quote:
Since currently there is no DirectX 11 hardware or appropriate development software, the Frostbite Engine was equipped with a switch inside the compiler that can be changed to DirectX 10 or DirectX 11. The developers at DICE are certain that the CPU load during API calls can be reduced noticeably with DirectX 11 drivers. Among other things the Frostbite DirectX 11 Engine offers HDR texture compression, Compute Shader and hardware tessellation for characters and terrain.

BF1943 is out now on PSN and XBLA, it costs 1200 MS points/$15 USD.
The PC version has been delayed to September, Koki will be disappointed.

Koki is always disappointed.
