I'm eager to hear if the servers are as oversubscribed as I've heard.
EA are having to stump up for the servers, as they're not using the LIVE provided ones, apparently.
I can't find the article now, but there is a clause that says they're allowed to turn the servers off permanently by giving you 30 days notice, too.
Still, I love FPS + Vehicle combat when it's done right, so they may yet get my cash.

There were huge problems in the first couple of days, if you could get onto a server, you couldn't join your friends.
But they've sorted all that now, and it's fun! Simple, streamlined BF fun. No super-players running around with all their unlocked equipment, it's just an arcadey slice of the action, really.

Three maps, three classess, unlimited ammo...sounds remarkably like Battlefield Heroes. Which is free.

Been playing for the past four hours, and it is good fun. I can see the three maps quickly becoming tiresome though.
Ammo is unlimited for all types of rifles but thankfully not for RPGs or Remote Detonators.
My favourite thing currently is to plant some TNT in the ground and then wait for a tank full of sweaty mens to drive over it. My least favourite thing is to pilot a plane, lets just say Air France hasn't got shit to worry about compared to me.
There's something funky going on right now though - the news ticker says they are "adding servers which may cause disconnections" - it sure as hell disconnected me. Also, the medals thing seems blank and it shows my lifetime kills as zero. Grrr.

3 maps getting a little old now, but it's fun when you get some friends online and in your squad. That's what makes this, really.

Yep, it's so much better with mates rather than just randoms.

Since all of the major competition have shot themselves in the foot on PC, there's a real niche that EA could easily fill with Bad Company 2. Provided that they don't also stuff up their product with shitty P2P matchmaking infrastructure, no dedicated servers and/or no anti-cheat.

Well, apparently the "no dedicated servers" point is one thing you don't have to worry about.

"Dedicated servers FTW. What ever secures a better online experience is a given for us," Tweeted DICE's K.M. Troedsson.
