Hmm, you guys don't seem to be as angry as before. Could it be.... YOU ARE ENJOYING THE GAME??
Very much so! I'm not sure anything can replace BF 1942 in my heart (I like the mechanics of that setting better) but I can honestly say that this is a better game than BFBC2 in every way. I'm really enjoying it, and I feel I have a fair bit of freedom in defining my role, tactics, taking different routes, as opposed to BFBC2s "throw the soldiers in the grinder" rush maps. The real test will be the 64-player - I only got one half-round on Caspian Sea before they took it down, and it was lagging like hell - but the infrantry mechanics are awesome, as is the reward system - you even get points for suppression fire that helps someone else.

I've been playing it quite a bit. I first installed and played it on PC, then I installed and played it on my PS3. Of course, it's much less laggy on my ps3 than it is on my pc, and I get a larger screen. Seems like both have issues, but being that it's a beta that's obvious. In any case, it is rather fun, I just suck, but that's not the game's fault.:p

Battlefield 3 beta.
"Your connection to the server has timed out." BC2 all over again.
I like how the actual pings of the servers aren't listed. Last time I saw that was...Bad Company 2!
*sigh* :(
sNeaksieGarrett on 2/10/2011 at 02:20
Yeah I've noticed that too. Not always the case, but a lot of servers show the ping as " - "
Funny considering this new browser style server browser is supposed to be better than their old server browsers.

I know in BC2 I was pretty much at the mercy of the server naming conventions. If the server name didn't include the city it was in, or at least a general geographic region, it was trial and error. I ended up adding the servers with consistently low pings to my favorites list, but when those servers are down, empty, or full, you're back to the old method which is a serious time waster/fun impediment. :nono:

It's a BETA of an online Multiplayer game, you fucking retard. Your typical "OH NOES, CORPORATIONS AND DRMZ ARE EVIL!!!!!!!!1111" mouth frothing aren't applicable here.
1. A BETA of an UNRELEASED GAME will likely have problems.
2. Player statistics are kept server-side to prevent hacking, for the good of the majority playerbase's enjoyment.

beta is the same as the alpha for me besides the conquest map. in the game nothing changed. same bugs, same interface issues, same non-existing manual squad menue, same clipping under the metro map possible as in the alpha, same error where battlelog forgets your filters.....when is it going to released ?
they sure have a lot to do until then.

A lot of what you are seeing in the BETA doesn't exist in the main game already. 1st Party submissions mean we couldn't give a version of the latest code in the BETA but the retail game is well ahead of what you are seeing now with a lot more bug fixes already in place.
